Consumers Union's Safe Patient Project is hosting the "Ending Medical Harm" conference on November 6, 2013 at Columbia University's School of Journalism. The conference features a series of panel discussions on the urgent need for hospitals to do more to prevent medical errors and hospital acquired infections, recently estimated to represent the third leading cause of death in the United States.
