Palliative Care is being recognized today as a core essential health care service. As we gain understanding of palliative care through a growing body of research, knowledge translation and networking, we can become better at providing this service in many settings where care of the very ill or dying is delivered; communities, nursing homes, palliative care units, hospice and acute care settings. This conference brings together the expertise from a number of speakers that will provide education and insight for us on current trends in the practice of practice of palliative care. It is our commitment to continuous learning that will allow us to expand our services, provide education to the public, enhance our skills and pay tribute to those we serve.
