UK Consensus Conference: Patient Flow in Acute Medicine, Friday 15 - Saturday 16 November 2013. At this event, convened by the Royal College of Physicians of Edinburgh in collaboration with the Scottish Government, a multidisciplinary panel, chaired by Professor Nigel Edwards, will develop a Consensus Statement covering: - How can we improve the experience of being admitted to hospital for acute medical patients? - How can the multi-disciplinary team work together to improve patient experience and clinical outcome? - What should patient flow look like in a system where acute medical patients experience effective, efficient and timely care, with no adverse impact on other clinical areas? - How does hospital design influence patient flow through acute medical units?
