Paging Dr. Facebook… Social Media and Healthcare
@socialmedia2day
Doctor Facebook? Nurse Twitter? Surgical tech YouTube? You bet. Hospitals benefit from using healthcare social media tools – when used strategically. No longer can hospitals expect patients to seek out its website for healthcare advice. They must go to where the patients are – where the conversation is already happening.
Patients Get Social About Their Health
@eMarketer
Attention physicians, hospitals and other health care providers-consumers are using social networks to share health care information. Yet, health care marketers are still reluctant to jump in and join the conversation.

Rheumatoid Arthritis Warrior
@rawarrior
We normally reserve the Chair of Cheer for healthcare businesses who have demonstrated exemplary use of social media as a means of controlling their online presence. But rules are meant to be broken. Meet Kelly Young, aka @rawarrior . Kelly has Rheumatoid Arthritis, and rather than shying away from her challenges, she’s become a huge force in awareness, support, and inspiration for fellow RA patients and their loved ones. About The Scoop
At Symplur we’re committed to providing you as professional healthcare provider with everything you need to understand, position yourself, and to take advantage of the fundamental shift that is taking place in marketing a medical practice.

Thanks so much for noticing our community and acknowledging it here! I’m truly honored.
It is honestly very tough to compete with pro’s in these platforms. Whether it’s the FB Page or the blog articles, there are many organizations (in rheumatology) with numerous paid employees who compete for the space, time, and attention with my volunteer single-author site. However, I think you’ve hit the nail on the head: we make up for it with passion for helping patients.
