RT @Chapman_Histo: @JulieDoll2 Not really - both are mesothelium with underlying loose CT. The parietal layer is usually bound to thicker CT. #anatq

My #anatQ : our #clerkships don't seem interested in collaborating w #basicscience #anatomy #faculty re redesigning their #meded #instruction. Anyone else face similar resistance ?
I Heart Histo @IHeartHisto
@JulieDoll2 All bone that is laid down initially is immature non-lamellar woven bone and will be replaced with mature lamellar bone during remodeling ๐Ÿ‘ #AnatQ
I Heart Histo @IHeartHisto

@IHeartHisto @JulieDoll2 I never use the term cancellous because (to me as a non-pathologist) it sounds too similar to cancerous. #anatq
Dr. Valerie O'Loughlin @vdoloughlin
Something that always confuses me... is #cancellous the same as #woven #bone, or different? #anatomy #anatQ #ossification https://t.co/IDZ4FyUe6c

@vdoloughlin Woven bone is new bone, the first bone laid down by osteoblasts during development/healing & doesn't contain the lamellae of bone tissue (there4 is weaker). Cancellous or spongy bone is lamellar bone that has bone marrow between it - it's stronger than woven but < compact #anatq
