T1 I taught high school,my gyn onc thought it best if I not work. I was very fatigued for three days after chemo and then my white blood counts dropped so I was glad to not have to drag myself to work. #gyncsm

I was in an accelerated BSN (nursing school) program. The surgery recovery alone kept me out of the program. Regardless, I could have never continued with school with chemo. #gyncsm

Some gyn cancers might be though of as older women's cancers but the age range is pretty wide even if some ages more likely. Also people are working longer. Work and career is a component of cancer care that needs discussion. #gyncsm

T2: I was self-employed when I found out about my gene mutation. Going back to work in an office I was open about it because I had already been open on social media. I do think has an impact on the process. #gyncsm

T4: It's important to become familiar with laws in your state regarding work during cancer treatment. Often a nurse navigator or social worker in your hospital or treatment center can help with this info. #gyncsm
