Amanda (Sina) Griffith @BumblePR RT @techguy: Lots of good @MEDITECH people. @amariedauwer can you connect Molly with the right people? I bet @tjustincampbell from @GalenHealthcare knows some resources. @otoolelawhit probably knows some people as well. Anyone else in #HITsm know of resources? https://t.co/oAhXTD3pwE
Galen Healthcare @GalenHealthcare #EHR audit log analysis can reveal how much time and where #providers are spending it in the #EHR, measure EHR-induced #PhysicianBurnout & support #EMROptimization efforts aimed at improving satisfaction. https://t.co/PPINz6FKXl #HealthIT #HITExpo #HITsm #hcldr #HITexpo

Colin Hung @Colin_Hung T1 @LAlupusLady I think apps are helping with access to healthcare (appt booking, find-a-doc) and with self-care (education, connecting with fellow pts, diagnostic tools). Long way to go, but I think it's helping #HITsm

Amanda G @LAlupusLady A1 Health IT is making it easier for patients to control and manage their care. Wearables and Apps help patients (esp. those w/ chronic conditions) track their symptoms and meds. #HITsm

Monica Stout, She/Her/Hers @MI_turnaround T1: I personally love apps and new technology that help me better manage my health and wellness ... and any conditions I have so I can better track symptoms, sometimes pinpoint what may lead to a flare, and bring the data to my doctors to have better conversations. #HITsm https://t.co/LbVVyyhB8F

Colin Hung @Colin_Hung @LAlupusLady T1 The tracking of symptoms is interesting. I wish more PGD can make it's way into EHRs. For now it is at least helping pts chart their own days/weeks. #HITsm

John Lynn @techguy Sorry to join a little late. Excited to have @LALupuslady hosting. There's no way I could choose one @ladygaga song. Poker Face is pretty incredible though. The meat dress is unforgettable though. #HITsm https://t.co/nCzODjDYWH

Monica Stout, She/Her/Hers @MI_turnaround T1: IMO, anything that helps track and consolidate this information for me is a win and something I'll use. I especially love when apps will integrate together. Ex: Fitbit & MyFitnessPal. Also noticed Fitbit added Women's Health measures in their app recently! #HITsm
Colin Hung @Colin_Hung @amariedauwer @LAlupusLady T1 I love my @fitbit but even a simple calendar can help when tracking symptoms. Doesn't always have to be an app #HITsm Something to consider esp with #SDOH
Amanda G @LAlupusLady A1 Wearables are game-changing! For years, i had to write down notes and often "brain fog" would make that difficult. Health IT has helped me in many ways streamline my care. #HITsm https://t.co/nTubD1UPDj
Monica Stout, She/Her/Hers @MI_turnaround @techguy @LAlupusLady @ladygaga I somehow missed this intro question! #HITsm

Ashley Dauwer @amariedauwer @Colin_Hung @LAlupusLady It's definitely something that EHRs are working on. I've heard of some really interesting use-cases about integrating PGHD into Case Management, which would be extremely helpful especially for chronically ill patients and post-op monitoring #HITsm
MasterControl @MCMasterControl A1- These new tech tools are helping to keep the information that is being passed from each health professional to the next consistent and ultimately accurate. #hitsm

I've heard of some really interesting use-cases about integrating PGHD into Case Management, which would be extremely helpful especially for chronically ill patients and post-op monitoring #HITsm
MasterControl @MCMasterControl A1(pt 2)- it's a huge help to those with chronic illness as it keeps their (sometimes many) symptoms, side effects, medications (old and new), and all other info regarding their disease together in a uniform way. Imagine having to repeat all of that for every single doc? #hitsm
Monica Stout, She/Her/Hers @MI_turnaround T2: A lack of integration leads to a lot of repeat data entry and wasted time for patients. #HITsm
Stacy Goebel @stacygoebel I've found the access to test data helpful on portals. I do wish I could connect them all for my family and have a single sign on. (Too many passwords and logins) #hitsm https://t.co/jwDlW6plMM
Ashley Dauwer @amariedauwer My grandparents do that! Every single day, twice a day, they take their blood pressure and manually write it in a journal to share with their doctor. Which seems so ridiculous to me. Can wearables track blood pressure? If so, I've got to get them some! #HITsm https://t.co/P8izoLuWIm
Amanda G @LAlupusLady A2 Despite all of the incredible #HealthIT advances and technology as a patient w/ chronic conditions and many Drs. my EHR is never complete, my HCPs don't have my current lab work and other Drs. notes. #HITsm
Jennifer Michelle, MPH (she) @MMSJennifer T2: It can restrict care options for those uncomfortable with digital solutions. Or those without reliable WiFi or cell service. #HITsm https://t.co/B92OJqkW2N

Monica Stout, She/Her/Hers @MI_turnaround @stacygoebel Yes! #HITsm
Colin Hung @Colin_Hung T2 Two ways. Not factoring in use cases for certain patient populations (ie: small fonts for apps for elderly? really?) Lack of integration/interop so data can be shared. We don't need more silos #HITsm
Don Lee @dflee30 @LAlupusLady If you could pick 1 problem or 1 part of the missing data to solve that would add the most value or eliminate the most burden, which would it be? #HITsm

Shereese Maynard, MS; MBA 😷 She/Her @ShereeseMayMba T2 Often developers forget for whom they're designing tech. #ux or #PatEx takes a second seat to investor relations. It can cause flaws in our thinking. #HITsm
Tommy Geraci | host | producer @tommy_geraci_ RT @LAlupusLady: A2 Despite all of the incredible #HealthIT advances and technology as a patient w/ chronic conditions and many Drs. my EHR is never complete, my HCPs don't have my current lab work and other Drs. notes. #HITsm
Amanda G @LAlupusLady A2 There is a huge gap, as a patient who uses Health IT and shares with my Drs. but many patients aren't using the tools (lack of access or time) that could help streamline their treatment. #HITsm
Tommy Geraci | host | producer @tommy_geraci_ RT @HealthcareScene: T2: T2: How is Health IT hindering (hurting) the patient experience (especially for people living with chronic conditions)? @LALupusLady #HITsm https://t.co/ptH4OZ50Kw

Ashley Dauwer @amariedauwer @MI_turnaround @techguy @LAlupusLady @ladygaga Ah I missed this question too! This was my favorite Lady Gaga looks, especially when she stood up to all the fat shamers and promoted being confident in your skin! #HITsm https://t.co/KtWDFF8YKB
Jeremy Coleman @jeremycoleman T2: Health IT is built around short-sh episodes of care. Years-long longitudinal records between acute care and multiple ambulatory EHR's is very hard to piece trends/causation together. #hitsm https://t.co/tYozY3dvGM
Monica Stout, She/Her/Hers @MI_turnaround @Colin_Hung Couldn't agree more. User-centered design is so important. App, device, & tech developers, know your audience! #HITsm
MasterControl @MCMasterControl @MI_turnaround @lisadbudzinski This so much! It's a pain to have to dig out the login info for every single one of them just to find one piece of information #hitsm
Don Lee @dflee30 @MMSJennifer Is it that you can't utilize all of the new options that others can, or do you think it actually becomes an access issue where the tech is the only way to do something and you can't do it? #HITsm
Jared Jeffery @Jk_Jeffery Jumping in late - LOVE this subject though! #hitsm
Monica Stout, She/Her/Hers @MI_turnaround @LAlupusLady Do you think it's always lack of access or time? Sometimes I think it's also a lack of awareness - they don't even know what's out there to help them. #HITsm
Lisa Davis Budzinski @lisadbudzinski @ShereesePubHlth Thank you for pointing this out Shereese! #HITsm Please include patient when designing✨
Amanda G @LAlupusLady If EHRs could communicate and share data, i am one person with multiple conditions a single complete EHR would be a huge help for anyone living with chronic illness. #HITsm https://t.co/WHOcvgjo4k
Monica Stout, She/Her/Hers @MI_turnaround @amariedauwer @techguy @LAlupusLady @ladygaga I loved that so much, too. She's the best. #HITsm

Not factoring in use cases for certain patient populations (ie: small fonts for apps for elderly? really?) Lack of integration/interop so data can be shared. We don't need more silos #HITsm
Jeremy Coleman @jeremycoleman @stacygoebel @Colin_Hung Yep and how about a #PHR with as advisor to explain not only what's going on to you but what's the delta's between you and a similar cohort of patients like you. #hitsm
Ashley Dauwer @amariedauwer @stacygoebel I agree! Between my kids and grandparents, it becomes impossily to remember all the URLs, passwords, etc. I wish it was all in one place, with one logon. #HITsm
MasterControl @MCMasterControl A2- The main hindrance for now is that they are not streamlined and can even have conflicting information across various apps. #hitsm
Amanda G @LAlupusLady RT @stacygoebel: The lack of consistent experience. So many inputs to manage. Would love a central place to manage everything. (Alexa, show me my dashboard!) #hitsm https://t.co/udbGWmSr3b

Lisa Davis Budzinski @lisadbudzinski @MCMasterControl @MI_turnaround Exactly! And the passwords are required to be longer and stronger✨ #HITsm
Don Lee @dflee30 @MI_turnaround @lisadbudzinski That's because the practices/hospitals are solving their problem (i.e. checking the MU box that says they gave you access to data they have about you) and not your problem (i.e. having ready access to all the data about you). #HITsm
Healthcare Scene @HealthcareScene T3: What Health IT companies/developers have made a positive impact on your life? How? If you are a patient, what Health IT has directly improved your patient experience? @LALupusLady #HITsm https://t.co/dpfHjkQt7t
Amanda G @LAlupusLady I hope not but a great question. #HITsm https://t.co/0B6roSt7cC
Shereese Maynard, MS; MBA 😷 She/Her @ShereeseMayMba T2 Also systems need to adopt standard languages, suitable for patient ex. If patients can't use tech, its a failure in scope #HITsm
Ashley Dauwer @amariedauwer @LAlupusLady I can't even imagine how frustrating that must be for a patient with a chronic illness, especially after all the money that has been dumped into #healthit in the past 10 years. #HITsm
Jennifer Michelle, MPH (she) @MMSJennifer @dflee30 In the cases I’m thinking of, they literally don’t have the Wi-Fi to get the access. And there is not cell service. They can’t log in and they can’t transmit data. #HITsm
