For me biggest issue in looking for a job was trying to gauge what the practice will look like in the short term and near term. Many groups opaque about how they are adapting to a rapidly changing environment. #jacr

#jacr T1: Best advice I got was to think holistically about what would make me happy & weight the different factors. For me location & sub-specialty practice were huge. Later, I realized that practice culture needs to be near top of list.

Very true. I've been told you can choose 2 of the following 3 in a "good" job market: 1) job, 2) location, 3) pay/benefits. In a bad market, good luck getting one of those. #jacr

PP rads serving on career panels can also serve as useful info. & interview for BOTH academics & pp so you can compare & contrast #JACR

Great points about not being exposed to private/hybrid programs as a trainee. Outside of talking with private practice docs, consider requesting elective time or shadowing during free time to get a sense of work flow/culture, especially if interested in a practice. #JACR

This is a great point- fantastic mentoring relationships don’t necessarily need to be in person... use the power of your social media community to make connections and expand your mentoring and mentee opportunities #JACR
