@MarkHertling T4 Incorporating urologists, orthopedic surgeons and other non-hospitalists into the division has been a challenge but so gratifying and fun to get to work alongside them. Nice not to be so siloed for once! #JHMChat

Mike Tchou @TchouMd
RT @WrayCharles: Health care is often thought of as a lumbering giant, but this crisis has revealed that it can more nimble and agile than I think a lot of us imagined. I wonder if this is a product of more doctors in leadership roles during this crisis...? #JHMChat cc @MarkHertling

RT @MarkHertling: Okay, this is my first chat with anyone, much less smarter docs, and my fingers are about typed out. But this is a critical question...what are YOU going to take away from what you've seen so far that will always stick with you? What is a "memory?" #JHMChat

@JHospMedicine @MarkHertling I hope that: 1. Health care workers esp physicians regain respect in the community 2. People realize that resources are finite 3. We recognize that all physicians are leaders no matter what their role #JHMChat

@JHospMedicine @MarkHertling As a #medpeds physician, seeing the cross-communication and collaboration between peds and adult health systems has been such a sight to see! @JonLimMD @FutureDocs @jenreadlynn It’s then our challenge to figure out ways in which our colleagues can safely contribute. To me it isn’t that they are paying to be here, it’s about where they are in their development as professionals. We should find ways for them to fulfill their call to serve. #JHMChat
Mark Hertling @MarkHertling
@templeratcliffe A good point. In the military, we know that great organizations are ones that come out of crisis...you can't get that just from peacetime training. While healthcare has "individual crisis" every day, nothing like this. Advantage it! #JHMChat

A4: the collaboration, gratitude and shared courage across departments and disciplines. Have left every conversation really feeling the heaviness of the "Thank you for your help" and the urgency to sincerely share that with everyone. #JHMChat

@jenreadlynn @JHospMedicine @MarkHertling Hey Jen! Yes. Our @EmoryMedicine developed some amazing learning modules, they've created a living repository of the literature, and they have (like many schools) an active website to allow donations, volunteering, etc. It's been a godsend. #JHMChat https://t.co/mA23WKOpYR
