@PNDandMe Hello I’m dipping in and out! #PNDHour
Katy C @itsmekatyc
@PNDandMe I’m here, multitasking with another chat about coproduction. Mum of one suffered Postpartum Psychosis and another episode last year #pndhour
Kerry ; @KTMummy
#pndhour Hey I'm here but I'm keeping an ear out for my little one. Hope your all well x
Selina - Breathe Mumma @breathemumma
@PNDandMe Hey, I'm here on and off xx #pndhour
Kerry ; @KTMummy
@PNDandMe I do I think I've realised that even more now she has started nursery this week. I feel all over the place. I don't really know what to do with myself. Mixed emotions. I've been planing a few things to do. Today I sat in the cafe and read a book, felt strange #pndhour
Katy C @itsmekatyc
@PNDandMe After I left the MBU I had a routine of going to three or four regular classes a week, swimming, massage etc I found having something to focus on helped, I also factored in a walk every day, sometimes twice #pndhour
Running In Mind @runninginmind11
@PNDandMe Yes definitely prefer having a routine. I like having structure and when I was suffering with #PND that really helped me #PNDHour
Honest Parents Club @honestparentclb
@PNDandMe Have a good chat! I’ve got the lurgy & had a busy day training as a peer supporter, so going to rest tonight. Shattered! Will catch up with the feed tomorrow. Take care everyone. #PNDHour
Katy C @itsmekatyc
I’ve always had a good bedtime routine but when I’m ill I make it stricter, bed by 9:30pm, meds and horlicks/cocoa before bed, sometimes a bath, I also get up at a fairly regular time now too which I think helps #PNDHour

@DBpsychology Hi, I'm OK thank you, little one started nursery this week and it's been stressful. Hard getting use to it really. #pndhour
Selina - Breathe Mumma @breathemumma
@PNDandMe I find it tough not having a routine. Being self employed and home educating there is no week the same. It's fine most of the time but when I'm feeling low everything feels all over the place. Definitely think structure helps #PNDHour
StartToTalk @starttotalkuk
@PNDandMe Yes a routine was helpful at times because it gives you a sense of what you're going to do in the day, a routine can also be a hindrance though because it locks you into doing things in a certain way and you might want to do something different.#PNDhour
Running In Mind @runninginmind11
@i_parravani @PNDandMe I think that’s important. At times I think my desire for routine made me more anxious. #PNDHour
Katy C @itsmekatyc
@i_parravani @PNDandMe I got a bit obsessed with getting a feeding/changing/napping routine ‘right’ in the early days, not sure how much of that was to do with my illness but it became less of a problem #pndhour
StartToTalk @starttotalkuk
@PNDandMe The routine can also go completely out of the window when you have a poorly baby.#PNDhour
StartToTalk @starttotalkuk
@PNDandMe Routines can give you a set time which is for you as well.#PNDhour
Running In Mind @runninginmind11
@starttotalkuk @PNDandMe So true. One of the things I did in therapy was be encouraged to set a nap routine and take that time to do something just for myself. It made a huge difference. I still do it now, two years later! #PNDHour
StartToTalk @starttotalkuk
@i_parravani @PNDandMe Routines can calm anxiety because they give you certainty and a sense of achievement. They can also be a source of anxiety and feeling overwhelmed if you can't keep up with them. This can then make you turn in on yourself like you're a failure.#PNDhour
Kerry ; @KTMummy
@DBpsychology Yes when she is settled I am thinking about going bk to work. Well trying something different. But I'm in no rush to as I've just started bk on antidepressants so I want to make sure I'm in the right frame of mind. Sounds lazy I know. But I don't want to mess ppl about. #pndhour
StartToTalk @starttotalkuk
@LotusPetalPND Sometimes routines can help you build your confidence going out and mixing with others. You know that you are going out and mixing with people at a certain time, but you also know that it will end at a certain time and you can then go back to your place of safety.#PNDhour
StartToTalk @starttotalkuk
@PNDandMe Yes it's a very fine balance. Too much routine can make you stressed and anxious, no routine can make you feel out of control and like you don't know where you're up to. If you're too stuck in a routine, you can also miss out on new experiences.#PNDhour
StartToTalk @starttotalkuk
Yes and at the end of the day, it doesn't really matter. Sometimes each day has it's own rhythm and flow. It's important to stop beating ourselves up, sometimes things don't go to plan. Just relaxing and carrying on with what is important in the present is okay.#PNDhour https://t.co/KQplhkYsHZ
Running In Mind @runninginmind11
@ArtemisKarya @starttotalkuk @PNDandMe It is hard. But as soon as they nap I sit down, make a cup of tea. If you do that first it can help make it a habit #PNDHour
StartToTalk @starttotalkuk
Very true, routines can be part of your self care and get you away from the house. Being stuck in a house can make you feel very down, trapped and also so far removed from the real world and what is happening. The fresh air is really good for clearing your mind too.#PNDhour https://t.co/z78MJoCzzA
StartToTalk @starttotalkuk
@PNDandMe Yes definitely a priority. It's really important for all women and men when struggling with MH difficulties and caring for a baby. It's even more important when the baby has complex needs and needs physical and mental support in addition to other baby needs.#PNDhour
StartToTalk @starttotalkuk
Yes that's a really good habit to have.#PNDhour https://t.co/m76RNF5ic2
StartToTalk @starttotalkuk
It's good to let go a little and know that it's okay. Babies aren't robots and don't do exactly the same thing everyday. They're constantly developing, exploring and learning. It's absolutely fine if the routine doesn't go as planned sometimes.#PNDhour https://t.co/8cVDXI3aMy
Running In Mind @runninginmind11
@ArtemisKarya @starttotalkuk @PNDandMe Sorry you’re not getting that time to yourself. It’s so tough. #PNDHour
Katy C @itsmekatyc
@doc_bipolar @PNDandMe I have me time factored in on my weekly schedule as a kind of relapse prevention measure, sometimes I feel bad about it but I know it’s super important that I look after myself and stay well #pndhour
Running In Mind @runninginmind11
@sarah_hislam @PNDandMe @ArtemisKarya @starttotalkuk Oh gosh that’s tough. Took me months to get my son to nap at home #PNDHour
Katy C @itsmekatyc
@eviecanavan @PNDandMe The health visitor made me feel bad about my feeding routine as well, I kept a record at home as I had in the MBU so I showed her and she made me feel terrible it wasn’t spot on, never showed her again #pndhour
StartToTalk @starttotalkuk
If you can get to the end of the day feeling happy, knowing that you haven't beaten yourself up all day for not sticking to a routine or a list, that's great. All that matters is what works for you and your child. If you feel happy and content, then you're doing fab!#PNDhour
Kerry ; @KTMummy
@doc_bipolar I promise to sit and eat some lunch or breakfast I'm a nightmare for not eating till the evening. #pndhour
Katy C @itsmekatyc
@doc_bipolar I promise to do my next couch to 5k session! #pndhour
