@physiotalk Hello! I'm a new CSP Steward in Grampian. Might be dipping in and out tonight but excited to see people's response on this topic! #physiotalk
Janet Thomas @JanetThomas47
I'm on the @physiotalk account tonight from Edinburgh #physiotalk
Janet Thomas @JanetThomas47
@physiotalk For me - its important. We are the CSP (which I suppose for most of us tonight is our professional body!) and its important that we interact. #physiotalk
Kathleen Tan πŸ³οΈβ€πŸŒˆπŸ’œ @Kathleen_physio
@physiotalk #physiotalk I think it is important for me for the learning and networking opportunities. You're also able to support others and get support when needed too.

@physiotalk @gvhawtin @chris_richards2 #physiotalk absolutely more! We have our networks of managers and colleagues for support but often support workers are more isolated from peer support or escalating issues
Kathleen Tan πŸ³οΈβ€πŸŒˆπŸ’œ @Kathleen_physio
@gvhawtin @physiotalk @chris_richards2 @ClaireFordham5 #physiotalk do you often need to explain to other support workers the benefits of being a member or even just being active in learning & non-clinical side of things?
Carla Ellis @carlatrottellis
@physiotalk #physiotalk important but not often urgent therefore can get lost in a busy day/week
Janet Thomas @JanetThomas47
@chris_richards2 @physiotalk @ClaireFordham5 Yes. It was fantastic being part of the support workers film - even though I'm not a great fan of being filmed! Important to showcase physiotherapy SW #physiotalk

@chris_richards2 @gvhawtin @physiotalk @ClaireFordham5 #physiotalk I do that too but achieved no success, will keep promoting to every support worker I come across tho!
Janet Thomas @JanetThomas47
@physiotalk Yes, I think it does. But I do take the time to ensure they know my views - I always do any surveys etc for example to make sure my view is heard and represented #physiotalk
Carla Ellis @carlatrottellis
@physiotalk #physiotalk yes but then I do engage and so may be more likely to see the benefits. As ever, it’s getting the views of people who don’t engage that is most important and constructive
Carla Ellis @carlatrottellis
@physiotalk #physiotalk of course, if you don’t see yourself (& your views) reflected in your governing body then you are less likely to feel included and represented
Movement maniac @PTtweets_
@physiotalk Yes. But petty politics in professional bodies damage a lot. #physiotalk
Janet Thomas @JanetThomas47
@chris_richards2 @physiotalk As my husband would say - west is best!! #physiotalk

@physiotalk #physiotalk was a CSP student rep in uni and now a CSP Steward!
Janet Thomas @JanetThomas47
@physiotalk In the professional networks - yes. Positions on @AGILECSP regional and national boards over the years, and now moved to international with @IPTOPphysio, plus alternate on the 'old' style Scotland board #physiotalk
Janet Thomas @JanetThomas47
@physiotalk Where to start! So much learning and opportunities from being part of a professional network. But its what you put in that links to what you get out of it as well of course #physiotalk

@physiotalk I think the engagement is just fine - emails, tweets, website, Frontline - their comms are very helpful. Stewards there if I needed them And if I needed more - they are a phone or an email away! #physiotalk
