Chiara Vivaldi @VivaldiC @HazelRoddam1 @RCSLTLearn @ReSNetSLT This looks good - we'll be sure to add the link to the summary
Chiara Vivaldi @VivaldiC Have any teachers been able to join us tonight? #ResNetSLT
Chiara Vivaldi @VivaldiC @HilaryLowe2 Hello :) So great you could join us #ResNetSLT
Chiara Vivaldi @VivaldiC #ResnetSLT tweetchat on #Devlangdis is underway-join us #teachersandtherapistsunite #UKEdResChat #ECLIPSTeachersLincolnshire @ANGEL83LULU @EmmaBroddle @_MandyManning @Laura_Pettifar @KarenDo00491134 @ClareMa89519589 @MrsWebster2007 @nowtbutmytruth @StaceyWilsonSm1 @NAPLIC
Chiara Vivaldi @VivaldiC .@HilaryLowe2 could you tell us a bit about how you set up the intervention for your study? #ResNetSLT
Chiara Vivaldi @VivaldiC Is this in primary or secondary schools? I'd be interested to hear if your experiences are similar to @NaziaRizwanSLT #ResNetSLT
Chiara Vivaldi @VivaldiC Sounds like the classroom approach is widespread with some useful pre-existing programmes. What difficulties have you found in implementing them? #ResNetSLT
Chiara Vivaldi @VivaldiC Great that you could join us :) #ResNetSLT
Chiara Vivaldi @VivaldiC Sounds like the advantages of classroom interventions outweigh the disadvantages including children not feeling singled out, better understanding of teacher roles and support needs, holistic approach and increased teacher involvement #ResNetSLT
Chiara Vivaldi @VivaldiC Is it particularly difficult to outcome a classroom vs a individual outcome? #ResNetSLT
Chiara Vivaldi @VivaldiC Is there a particular approach you've tried? #ResNetSLT
Chiara Vivaldi @VivaldiC That would definitely be good to hear more about #ResNetSLT
Chiara Vivaldi @VivaldiC Looks like a mixed approach to outcomes is common using questionnaires and specific skills testing and looking at knowledge and confidence in both teachers and pupils #ResNetSLT
Shaun Ziegenfusz (he/him) @shaunziegenfusz A1. One of the best parts of my career to date was establishing a co-teaching model for #teachersandtherapistsunite in a specialist early childhood setting for kids with #DevLangDis #ResNetSLT
Chiara Vivaldi @VivaldiC Great that you could pop by. Any tips for how to foster the #teacher and #SLT collaboration? #ResNetSLT
Rhona Sangster @RMSangster @christine_slt @ReSNetSLT @WordAware I’ve been doing whole class vocab teaching with a school of mine with great results. Also lots of team teaching/collaboration for #emergingliteracy thanks to @NAllianceScot projects #ReSNetSLT
Shaun Ziegenfusz (he/him) @shaunziegenfusz A2. Some administrators don’t seem to want to pay or value time for collaboration 🤷♂️ #ResNetSLT
Shaun Ziegenfusz (he/him) @shaunziegenfusz @ReSNetSLT We had small class sizes (10) with 1 teacher, 1 support officer and then 1 SLP/SLT and 1 OT for every 2 classes (as well as physio, music therapy and psyc working across whole school). #ResNetSLT
Chiara Vivaldi @VivaldiC That's great to hear. Any tips on how you fostered collaboration #ResNetSLT
Shaun Ziegenfusz (he/him) @shaunziegenfusz @VivaldiC Cake! Haha First step is to build relationship as equals. All pet of the team. Therapists seem less as “part of” and more as an “add on”. We need to work towards normally our roles. Also need to have a very good understanding of each other’s roles #ResNetSLT

Chiara Vivaldi @VivaldiC Tips for fostering collaboration: Joint goal setting Close links with senior management Being on staff meeting agendas Clearly showing links between vocab, reading etc. and academic achievement Opportunities for collective feedback and reflection These are great! #ResNetSLT
Shaun Ziegenfusz (he/him) @shaunziegenfusz A2. IMO a better educational experience for students and families, as well as a cohesive model of service #ResNetSLT
Shaun Ziegenfusz (he/him) @shaunziegenfusz A3. I completed 6 monthly staff surveys using a standard measure (can’t remember which) to look at skills, knowledge and team characteristics. Also completed 2 x action research projects specifically looking at collaboration on curriculum (1 x English, 1 x maths) #ResNetSLT

Chiara Vivaldi @VivaldiC The tips keep coming for fostering collaboration: Continuity of working relationships Training and ongoing support Better understanding of roles And lets not forget...cake #ResNetSLT
Shaun Ziegenfusz (he/him) @shaunziegenfusz #resnetslt followers might be interested to following my #SLPhD research on educational needs of students with #DevLangDis @DLDEdResearch @ReSNetSLT
