A2;I grew up thinking that a 'normal' home was a battlezone. A place to walk on eggshells so as to not trigger the alcoholic rage. My ability to trust anyone was compromised, the result of living in an Alcoholic home is #guilt #shame #helplessness #abandonment #SoberUSA https://t.co/7MMZfyd9XM

@AAC_Tweet Best question ever!! This conversation made a huge, positive difference in my kids lives; they were young & I, young enough, let my sobriety influence then in a positive way. #SoberUSA

@AAC_Tweet More importantly, they KNOW it can happen to them, maybe it won't, but if it does I can help them as much as they would be willing to help themselves. #SoberUSA

@AAC_Tweet Don't let the conversations stop after a certain age. Adult children still need that safe space and mentor tho turn to. Even if they aren't afflicted to something; talking & listening are vital to growing as a person. #SoberUSA

@AAC_Tweet Empower them to become who they want to be and not allow blame or victimization or the ACOA role they assumed to define them. That's where education of addiction meets a life full of possibilities. #SoberUSA

A3:The support available is extensive w the invent of social media. It provides a place to discuss dysfunctional homes that can help prevent these issues from becoming permanently established. Let the victims know "YOU are not alone & it's not Your fault." #SoberUSA https://t.co/o3V4LccuVM

I am 54 yrs old now. I stopped drinking at 37. My kids were 14, 12 & 9. It is never too late but had I waited much longer with their teen years nearby, it probably would be a different story for all of us. #SoberUSA @AAC_Tweet
