A1: I won’t necessarily say that I’ve been burned out as much as I’ve gotten stagnant. When I was really feeling this way, I applied to DNP school and to work with the OPO. Both came through at the same time. Stagnant problem solved. 🤦🏻‍♀️ #TweetRN

@from_bedside A1 #TweetRN I have not experienced it ,however, have researched and spoken to nurses who have.First,what is the cause? Relaxation techniques,having a space to unwind. I had a stress room in one of the hospitals I worked in.Staff could take 10,listen to music,essential oils etc.

@from_bedside A2: I didn't like our staffing matrices in our ICU so I kept asking questions until I learned how they came about & how to improve them. I talked to staff, esp charge RNs, summarized the problems & solutions (with the why's) & presented it to the staffing committee. #TweetRN

@from_bedside A2 on my unit charge is constantly checking in to see if anyone needs help along with other nurses esp if they have a slower assignment. Everyone who is available helps settle new admits. Open communication is present. Some units do nurse led rounding. #tweetrn

@from_bedside A2 #TweetRN One area of focus for my current place is leadership. Got several folks in leadership who have no training in leadership, no sense of professionalism & are also overwhelmed w/expectations. Our education team is doing a lot to try to fill that gap.

@from_bedside #TweetRN Involve physicians. I developed a model when I was a CNO in SC.Each unit had 1 or 2 physicians that were indierct leaders with the CNS/staff and manager. They came up with creative ideas to support each other. They were burning out too .EHR was a big factor.
