RT @alitwy: Hello from me too. Looking forward to hearing everyone’s views tonight #ebnjc
EBNursingBMJ @EBNursingBMJ
@robinfromcamhs You have done a fabulous job. Have really enjoyed the blogs this week and all the pre-chat energy. #ebnjc
EBNursingBMJ @EBNursingBMJ
@JamesKenrick1 @YouthAccess #childrensmentalhealthweek has enabled us to identify and flag up so many great services, thank you #ebnjc
EBNursingBMJ @EBNursingBMJ
Our first question is linked to the amazing blog by @MairElliott1 as part of #childrensmentalhealthweek https://t.co/NFSczWJpua Mair writes about the importance of communication, especially in systems that are broken. #ebnjc #WeMHNs https://t.co/U320lFw4WG
Karen Whitelaw @KarenCYPMH
👋 Hi I’m Karen from @WeCanTalkCYPMH and @YouthAccess I work with young people to codesign projects/services to improve our mental health system. Looking forward to the chat this evening! #ebnjc
Karen Whitelaw @KarenCYPMH
@EBNursingBMJ @MairElliott1 Trust works both ways, trust what young people are telling you needs to change and act on it. Transparent accountability in services and less defensiveness about what needs to change #ebnjc #WeMHNs
EBNursingBMJ @EBNursingBMJ
@alitwy Do we have a good idea of what they system is currently? This week's blogs and tweets have demonstrated how lots of different organisations have developed to plug the holes in health service provision. Is it too complex now? #ebnjc
Karen Whitelaw @KarenCYPMH
@EBNursingBMJ @MairElliott1 Important to hold our hands up and admit that things are broken, and show a real commitment to changing the system. Involve young people meaningfully in system design( not just designing waiting rooms!) #ebnjc #WeMHNs
EBNursingBMJ @EBNursingBMJ
Barry Nixon from @cmecic is outspoken in his views about the negative rhetoric directed towards #CAMHS by the media #childrensmentalhealthweek ➡️ https://t.co/H51OYoiaSj He argues we need to champion those areas of positive practice in a decade of austerity. #ebnjc #WeMHNs https://t.co/kZ1Z0n074w

@EBNursingBMJ @MairElliott1 Also the important point that @MairElliott1 makes in her blog about how YP are treated by staff. Informed and empowered workers lead to trust building at the personal level. Every staff member is a representative of ‘the system’ and impacts trust of that system #ebnjc #WeMHNs

As part of #childrensmentalhealthweek @JamesKenrick1 from @YouthAccess writes that we need to humanise mental health services by recognising that the relationships with young people are the most valuable thing about the service. ➡️ https://t.co/NmxT7cKObZ #ebnjc #WeMHNs https://t.co/SI9FmpVzHX

@WeMHNurses We (as publishers) and the media generally have a massive influence. All too quick to publish horror stories - not so quick to celebrate or promote innovation and success #ebnjc

As we move towards equal funding of mental health and physical health @ayasha09017404 suggests the way to integration is not through the continued separation of services. ➡️ https://t.co/t18kgKZFZq #ebnjc #WeMHNs https://t.co/lAhXKCXqcs

The voice the of service user is not as loud as it could be in the research literature - not just PPI to rubber stamp the project the researcher wants, but to create projects that challenge the traditional service design #ebnjc

@EBNursingBMJ @ayasha09017404 Maybe the language needs to evolve to signify a new understanding but maybe they do need to be kept separate. There is a growing body of influence that mental health is linked to causal factors such as experiences of trauma, discrimination, poverty 1/2 #ebnjc

@EBNursingBMJ @ayasha09017404 2/2 in a different way to physical health (even talking about them as delegate feels too clunky). So maybe we need to acknowledge the differences or we stay wedded to biological dominance in child mh. Unless other areas of health get better at holistic model of health #ebnjc
