Lisa Suennen @VentureValkyrie RT @ShoshUMD: I can’t believe this is actually happening!!! @TheTimMcGraw is speaking at #EndWell19! 🙌🏼 Don’t miss it 👉🏼👉🏼👉🏼 https://t.co/t2pqtzgaD4 #hpm https://t.co/1reFheZnK1
Robert Gerard @rhgerard RT @PalDaily: The latest All Things Palliative - Lay Press! https://t.co/Kub5wXdrUV Thanks to @BeThatOne2 @tmj_SAT_gensci @JulieSunne1 #hospice #hpm
Workin Minerva @workinminerva @reinhart_shelly I’m so sorry, but I see this still happening. When patient/family access is driven by a referral system and not an integrated “usual care” approach, then access is subject to whims of provider bias and misunderstanding of what palliative care is. Maddening. #HPM #SWHPN
ZacharySagerMD (he/him) @ZacharySagerMD Wrote this piece with the help of a great team including @DrKevinHill. Below I'll share some of my thoughts about #opioids and opioid use disorder and how they present in #hpm and #palliative care, plus why we need to do a better job of addressing #addiction at end of life. 1/x
Sylvie Leotin @sleotin RT @SeleneSeltzer: Person with #Cancer? Or #seriousillness or #sufferedaloss or a #caregiver? Or know someone who is? .@sleotin explores how to answer “How Are You?” when you are not okay...This is insightful, good reading https://t.co/DsPWCJKSPv #ptexperience #palliativecare #hapc #hpm
ZacharySagerMD (he/him) @ZacharySagerMD 2/x Training in #KY gave me a front row seat to the #opioidcrisis. With an interest in #hpm I kept wondering what would happen to these individuals who developed an OUD and years later were prescribed opioids. How would I keep those patients safe and manage their pain?
ZacharySagerMD (he/him) @ZacharySagerMD 5/x Without a doubt, it has been one of the best experiences of my young career. To other #HPM providers out there, caring for individuals with substance use disorders can be challenging, but has also been rewarding as anything else I've done. So, this is what I've learned.
ZacharySagerMD (he/him) @ZacharySagerMD 6/x 1. All #HPM providers should @GetWaivered. We are experts in pain management, and #buprenorphine is underutilized by our field. #buprenorphine can be an effective option for those with pain and misuse, can be used with full agonist opioids, and can help #harmreduction.

Ben Skoch, DO, MBA @skochb I appreciate this effort. It is SO challenging sometimes to have these discussions, especially when my sense is people in #hpm #hpac have a “helper” mentality. |
