First off, can everyone introduce themselves please. Housekeeping....remember to use the hashtag #ukmedlibs
Emily Hopkins @emilylovedhim
Hello #ukmedlibs I'm Emily. Knowledge Manager at HEE and supported the #TopolReview with evidence updates and alerts, so it's a report close to my heart!

@cmmclaren That is dedication #ukmedlibs

Evening all, I’m Holly. Looking forward to tonight’s chat, but also still trying to get the baby to sleep! #ukmedlibs

@tomroper Well, with the combined efforts of HEE KM team and @SASHLibs we like to think the Topol Team were well supported! And the team were very aware of the importance of evidence #ukmedlibs
UKMedLibs @UKMedLibs
Q2) How do you and your team already support the workforce (and members of public) to develop their digital skills? What is working well? What resources do you use and recommend? #ukmedlibs

#ukmedlibs Q1 I was lucky enough to be at the launch of the #TopolReview it is very well presented. The majority of NHS staff not just clinicians will need to be trained in digital health.
Emily Hopkins @emilylovedhim
#ukmedlibs Q2 Our friends in TEL have been very active in producing a Digital Literacy Framework which is worth a look https://t.co/v23UUkvlaD

@nhhoward Sounds really interesting! And rewarding, I'm sure #ukmedlibs

@samanthaclare @LibraryKirsten It's an interesting point, and I very much personally consider myself a librarian by background, but working in a Knowledge Manger role - "librarian" just doesn't explain what I do any more. I think we have a family of information professions #ukmedlibs
UKMedLibs @UKMedLibs
Q3) How does your team enable the spread and adoption of innovation? Is this well received? #ukmedlibs
UKMedLibs @UKMedLibs
@emilylovedhim @samanthaclare @LibraryKirsten I've also found this with Information Specialist....'librarian' doesn't fully cover everything #ukmedlibs
Caroline Storer @StorerCaroline
@emilylovedhim @samanthaclare @LibraryKirsten I agree. I haven't worked in a library for 6 years as organisations don't always have a physical resource now, it's all digital. #ukmedlibs

@samanthaclare @UKMedLibs Yes, everyone knows it's a good idea but I think it often comes down to time/effort/not feeling you have anything worth sharing. It's easier to pick others' brains than share what you know yourself! #ukmedlibs

@samanthaclare @RuthCarlyle @HHFTnhs That sounds like a really important role though - you're obviously informing better decision making which will link through to the Board whether you see it directly or not #ukmedlibs

A5 Setting aside healthcare for a moment and thinking specifically about the library sector, it’s interesting to think about applications of AI systems in libraries and archives in creating metadata from digitization projects. https://t.co/8eg7LlGoDp #ukmedlibs

RT @RuthCarlyle:

@samanthaclare @RuthCarlyle @HHFTnhs I think it's interesting how things we see as small or routine really add up to make big changes, and all impact on culture and climate in organisations #ukmedlibs

#ukmedlibs Need investment in training and education for all healthcare professionals in digital literacy to support #TopolReview recommendations. Clinicians need to be able to.understand all the data available. Also need to use this to support personalised and individual care.

A5 We’re already seeing the beginnings of AI in searching (see https://t.co/PMamoext0x ) – will it mean a change to one of our key skills/roles? Will we do more of the mediation and summarising/synthesising rather than the search strategies? Will be interesting to see! #ukmedlibs
