Hi I’m Victoria, Knowledge Manager at NHS England & NHS Improvement #ukmedlibs 👋
UKMedLibs @UKMedLibs
Welcome to tonight’s #ukmedlibs chat on #covid19 and the library response, led by @debrun, to whom many thanks for agreeing to lead
Holly Case Wyatt @Hollingtonn
Hi all! Holly here from @NHS_HealthEdEng looking forward to this chat #ukmedlibs
UKMedLibs @UKMedLibs
It’s @tomroper here at the #ukmedlibs controls; my job is just to keep you in order!
UKMedLibs @UKMedLibs
We discussed substantially the same topic in the February #ukmedlibs chat, but that seems a lifetime ago
UKMedLibs @UKMedLibs
We’ve got ten #ukmedlibs questions, so let’s have the first https://t.co/CKP1M94AGq
Clare Edwards @ClareEdwards311
Good evening everyone, I'm Clare working for @NHS_HealthEdEng LKS team across East of England and the Midlands #ukmedlibs
UKMedLibs @UKMedLibs
Er wrong question #ukmedlibs. Try this one https://t.co/spAlPtgAoh
HelenO @He1enO
#ukmedlibs looking forward to the conversation this evening, I'm a Knowledge Manager at NHSE/I
UKMedLibs @UKMedLibs
@samanthaclare Easy to confuse 01 and 10. Good job they don’t let me dispense drugs #ukmedlibs
NHS Borders Library Services @NHSBordersLib
#ukmedlibs Hi, I'm Suzy and this is my first time here
UKMedLibs @UKMedLibs
@NHSBordersLib Welcome, Suzy! #ukmedlibs
Victoria Treadway @Librarianpocket
Q1 I’d like to continue using Microsoft Teams and other collaboration software effectively #ukmedlibs
Holly Case Wyatt @Hollingtonn
I’m okay, looking for the silver linings during this tough time. Enormously proud of my colleagues and the NHS even more so than usual! #ukmedlibs
Victoria Treadway @Librarianpocket
This 👇🏼 #ukmedlibs
UKMedLibs @UKMedLibs
#ukmedlibs Q2 here (I’ll keep the questions moving, as we’ve got ten to get through, but don’t curtail discussion of the previous one - it’ll all make sense in the transcript) https://t.co/ilwmB6wvtE
Holly Case Wyatt @Hollingtonn
@franknorman Yes that must be a tricky thing based on the way they usually work! #ukmedlibs
Clare Edwards @ClareEdwards311
Q1 I’m keeping well, adapting to the change of working in a virtual world #ukmedlibs
Victoria Treadway @Librarianpocket
Q2 Most of my day to day work has been paused and my team has been redeployed elsewhere in NHS England to support the crisis response. Lots of opportunities but my capacity has decreased having kids at home with me 😍 #ukmedlibs
UKMedLibs @UKMedLibs
Here’s Q3 #ukmedlibs https://t.co/IAs1DrspJH
Caroline Storer @StorerCaroline
@DeBrun It's very useful, I've shared and used it a lot. Thank you Caroline #ukmedlibs
Holly Case Wyatt @Hollingtonn
Q2. Having to really think about the delivery of CPD & what can/can’t be delivered virtually. As others have said I feel more time pressured, but privileged to support colleagues #ukmedlibs
UKMedLibs @UKMedLibs
#ukmedlibs A periodic reminder: don’t forget to use the hashtag! Otherwise your tweets won’t be seen by others (unless they follow you) and won’t make it to the transcript
Rachel Walden @rachel_w
#LibrariesWFH
Victoria Treadway @Librarianpocket
I was accustomed to training online so that hasn’t been too much of a change for me. Finding the @NHS_HealthEdEng coordination of #LKS sources and searches really helpful. The @WHO database especially helpful. #ukmedlibs
UKMedLibs @UKMedLibs
@rachel_w Did any #ukmedlibs take part in the tweeting the other day around that hashtag?
Helen Watts @Watts6Helen
@UKMedLibs #ukmedlibs We'd just made a Skype training package anyway so luckily we were ready in that respect.
Holly Case Wyatt @Hollingtonn

Victoria Treadway @Librarianpocket
@DeBrun We have Microsoft Teams. We’ve also been using Teams Live Events for large scale webinars #ukmedlibs
Holly Case Wyatt @Hollingtonn
@liberkiely Recording and then sending to the user is a great idea! #ukmedlibs
Holly Case Wyatt @Hollingtonn
RT @RuthCarlyle:
HelenO @He1enO
Q3 #ukmedlibs I've been helping to share learning via Microsoft Live events which involves being the "producer" & pressing the "Go Live" button
UKMedLibs @UKMedLibs
Here’s Q4 #ukmedlibs https://t.co/Gfc3W2RkNy

Q4 Tailored horizon scanning for the specific area (imaging) that I’m redeployed to. Advocating the value of #knowledgemanagement to a brand new set of colleagues who are time-poor and under pressure #ukmedlibs
HelenO @He1enO
Q4 #ukmedlibs I've been v impressed with how colleagues are explaining complex evidence & I've lots to learn!
UKMedLibs @UKMedLibs
Some great links to useful tools coming out here #ukmedlibs. We’ll harvest all these and put them up with the transcript
Helen Watts @Watts6Helen
@HeleneGorring #ukmedlibs It's really useful. Thanks for creating. It saves me time!
Holly Case Wyatt @Hollingtonn
We have built a space for our managers in LKSS & delivered our first virtual meeting via Teams today. Also going to have a go at creating some e-learning to support CPD (not on my own, that would be bonkers!) Stepping out of my comfort zone #ukmedlibs
UKMedLibs @UKMedLibs
#ukmedlibs Have another question: Q5 https://t.co/GzM7X1k8ea
Holly Case Wyatt @Hollingtonn
@liberkiely Yes, I love that and also come back to it again when they need it. Been talking to colleagues about something similar, so it's great to hear it's working! #ukmedlibs
Clare Edwards @ClareEdwards311
A4 An example of this is @UHBLibrary for @NightingaleBham setting up IP Authentication, working on getting BMJ BP into Ocean EPR and providing access to wellbeing resources @RichardJParker1#ukmedlibs
Eli Harriss @eliharriss
#ukmedlibs I'll have to catch the transcript when it's available. The clash with tonight's film club, which I'm hosting, is unfortunate.
Helen Watts @Watts6Helen
@UKMedLibs #ukmedlibs q4 K4h blog is really useful. Plus Lismedical has been invaluable. Spirit of sharing has been first class.
Victoria Treadway @Librarianpocket
Q5 I was impressed (but not surprised) by how quickly the #LKS community mobilised to coordinate easy access to trusted #COVID19 information sources, many of which I have shared with colleagues #ukmedlibs
UKMedLibs @UKMedLibs
And, just to emphasise the point about information overload, here’s Q6 #ukmedlibs https://t.co/WL8aaHfrzT
Dr Caroline Papi De Brún @DeBrun
RT @Librarianpocket: Q5 I was impressed (but not surprised) by how quickly the #LKS community mobilised to coordinate easy access to trusted #COVID19 information sources, many of which I have shared with colleagues #ukmedlibs
Victoria Treadway @Librarianpocket
@DeBrun Clearly there’s an emotional toll but professionally I’ve found it really interesting to follow the research and how our knowledge grows each day. It’s such an opportunity for learning. #ukmedlibs
Holly Case Wyatt @Hollingtonn
Q5. This is really tricky, I'm being very selective about what I spend time reading but I'm aware that that is a huge luxury #ukmedlibs
Holly Case Wyatt @Hollingtonn
@The_Mr_Cook That's really interesting, do you think other areas of local government are beginning to see the importance of what you do? That could be a game changer! #ukmedlibs
Clare Edwards @ClareEdwards311
RT @JuicyPearSeed:
Victoria Treadway @Librarianpocket
@andreadgibbons This is great! At what point have you posed these questions to colleagues? And how are you sharing / planning to share your findings? #ukmedlibs

@scaredycait I'm sure you are doing more than a good enough job! They're very lucky to have someone as conscientious as you #ukmedlibs
Victoria Treadway @Librarianpocket
Q7 I have consciously lowered my expectations in some areas (how much work I can get done, how much home schooling I can do). Colleagues have been overwhelmingly flexible, kind & understanding. Daily walks are our highlight 😍 #ukmedlibs

Holly Case Wyatt @Hollingtonn
Q7. @cmmclaren & I have been working on pulling together a list of ideas for bands 2, 3 and 4 who are working from home. This includes some great CPD ideas! #ukmedlibs
Victoria Treadway @Librarianpocket
Q8 We’ve been having less formal catch-ups / meetings with an emphasis on “How is everyone doing?” which has been great. More use of the Conversation tab on MS Teams for general non-work chat too #ukmedlibs
UKMedLibs @UKMedLibs
No one’s taken up the bagpipes then? #ukmedlibs
