We want your thoughts & opinions to help shape our “Controversies in Nutrition: Outlining the Issues” panel discussion. It will take place on twitter as well as at the Mayo Clinic Nutrition and Wellness CME course, November 4-5 in Chicago: http://www.mayo.edu/cme/nutrition2013 It deals with the concept of “weightism” and its impacts on society & individuals. Weightism also known as weight stigma or bias is a discrimination or stereotyping based on an individual’s weight. Our goal is to have an open & honest conversation around weightism. We will be introducing three conversation topics throughout the course & on twitter (with the panel discussion at 9:30 CDT, Nov 5) to explore these ideas & issues.
