Diabetes - Past Triumphs, Current Challenges, Future Horizons

Diabetes and obesity are developing as global pandemics with major implications to healthcare systems and to the health of society. Faced with such a marked increase in disease prevalence, most physicians need a basic understanding of diabetes management and approaches to therapy. In this conference we ask: How do we best deliver diabetes care? Can we take advantage of technological developments? How do we empower individuals to look after themselves? Do we individualise care or treat to the guideline? Why exercise and how is this best achieved in the individual or society?
