JCU School of Nursing Pacific Islander Mental Health Nursing Leaders Program

James Cook University’s World Health Organisation Collaborating Centre (WHOCC) and School of Nursing and Midwifery are being supported by an AusAID Australian Fellowship Award to provide a four-week course. The course is being delivered out of JCU Cairns, and is being attended by 20 nurses and health care professionals from seven Pacific nations - Papua New Guinea, Solomon Islands, Fiji, Palau, Niue, Cook Islands and Kiribati. Course content includes lectures, workshops, clinical visits to public and private mental health facilities and a mental health first aid course.
