In 2012, Canada’s public healthcare system – Medicare – celebrated its 50th anniversary. So too did Saskatchewan’s network of cooperative Community Health Centres, which emerged from a groundswell of community demand for accessible and effective healthcare services. Since the founding of Medicare, Community Health Centres have gradually taken root across Canada’s provinces and territories, bringing to life a powerful vision and innovative practices focused on individual, family and community wellbeing.
