Must Stop MS! @MustStopMS @makkydoll Be like “Hi I’m wild B” #ChatMS
Felisha “the knife in the kidney” 🪴 @felish_a Q1: Have you ever used a mobility aid? If so what kind? If you are a full time user, what do you use and for how long? #ChatMS
Must Stop MS! @MustStopMS @jyellowcard That makes me happy 😊 #ChatMS
Must Stop MS! @MustStopMS RT @felish_a: Hi everyone! Thank you so much for joining me tonight! Hope you are all doing well and reading to talk mobility aids! 1sy question coming right up #chatms
Patty Long @MSenIt4life RT @felish_a: Hi everyone! Thank you so much for joining me tonight! Hope you are all doing well and reading to talk mobility aids! 1sy question coming right up #chatms
Must Stop MS! @MustStopMS RT @felish_a: Q1: Q1: Have you ever used a mobility aid? If so what kind? If you are a full time user, what do you use and for how long? #ChatMS
Must Stop MS! @MustStopMS @felish_a A1 - I have not, but I’ve done a little bit of research to help if I get to that point. #ChatMS
John Yellowcard @jyellowcard @felish_a I use a cane inside the house and a walker.. in public I use my scooter.#ChatMS
Must Stop MS! @MustStopMS @makkydoll Hahaha #ChatMS
Felisha “the knife in the kidney” 🪴 @felish_a A1: I personally am a full time user with mostly a wheelchair and sometimes a walker. I have been using an aid for 3 years #chatms
Must Stop MS! @MustStopMS @MSenIt4life @makkydoll It could be Wild B and Wild P! #ChatMS
Aleyna @AleynaMoreHuman A1: Since dx I've gone from cane to walker to wheelchair #ChatMS
Patty Long @MSenIt4life Yes and No. I chose not to get a wheelchair cause I didn’t have any arms to make it work. Didn’t see the point. As I got the right help, I used whatever was around me to stand, then take a step. Sit. I had nowhere to be. #ChatMS
Felisha “the knife in the kidney” 🪴 @felish_a Q2: How long after diagnosis did you start using your aid? Was it right away or a gradual decline? #chatms
Must Stop MS! @MustStopMS RT @felish_a: Q2: Q2: How long after diagnosis did you start using your aid? Was it right away or a gradual decline? #chatms
christian . @dearest_monster @felish_a @MustStopMS A1 #chatMS canes, forearm crutches and wheelchair. Wheelchair is the daily driver though.
John Yellowcard @jyellowcard @felish_a I am on a very small slope MS hill. I keep losing shit but very slowly. #chatms
Felisha “the knife in the kidney” 🪴 @felish_a A2: I started using a wheelchair right away since I had a massive flare that ended me up in the hospital for 6 weeks and that has been 3 years ago. #chatms
Aleyna @AleynaMoreHuman A2: Gradual decline. Got by using my baby's stroller as a walking aide for almost a year, but then had to switch to a cane #ChatMS
Must Stop MS! @MustStopMS @makkydoll Tore it from a spasm?? Ouch! #ChatMS https://t.co/CLnO2ErCcT
Felisha “the knife in the kidney” 🪴 @felish_a Q3: Many of us have realized the world is not made for the disabled community. What is one of the most frustrating things about going out in public? #chatms
Must Stop MS! @MustStopMS RT @felish_a: Q3: Q3: Many of us have realized the world is not made for the disabled community. What is one of the most frustrating things about going out in public? #chatms
Patty Long @MSenIt4life @koffeelover41 @felish_a Good point! I have used and still do at times these sorts of aids. It gives me more control at my joints. Knees & elbows #ChatMS
christian . @dearest_monster @felish_a @MustStopMS A2 #chatMS gradual decline, yesrs 9, 10, 11 were with crutches and canes about 12 years after diagnosis came the chair .
Felisha “the knife in the kidney” 🪴 @felish_a A3: I think one of the toughest it that things technically work for us but not really. Most bathroom stalls aren't big enough, most ramps suck, parking spots are always handy.. etc and nothing is wheelchair height. EVER #chatms
Must Stop MS! @MustStopMS RT @felish_a: A3: A3: I think one of the toughest it that things technically work for us but not really. Most bathroom stalls aren't big enough, most ramps suck, parking spots are always handy.. etc and nothing is wheelchair height. EVER #chatms
Marty Hall @jeanmarh20 @felish_a Hi. A1 I use a rollator, canes and the wheelchair is for trips to drs ofc. #ChatMS
Aleyna @AleynaMoreHuman A3: Stairs at the entrances to people's homes. Even lots of ground-level ranch homes have a single ledge or step at the front door. #ChatMS
Must Stop MS! @MustStopMS @makkydoll Oh wow!! #ChatMS
Marty Hall @jeanmarh20 A2. I started using aids about 4 yrs after diag #ChatMS
Must Stop MS! @MustStopMS @Aleynamorehuman A3 - I know I see places that have the handicap accessible signs but it still isn’t easily accessible. #ChatMS
Felisha “the knife in the kidney” 🪴 @felish_a @jyellowcard don't forget the hashtag Jon so everyone can see your response :) #chatms
Must Stop MS! @MustStopMS RT @felish_a: @jyellowcard don't forget the hashtag Jon so everyone can see your response :) #chatms
Marty Hall @jeanmarh20 @felish_a A3. Being told a location is wheelchair accessible but it’s not really #Chatms
Felisha “the knife in the kidney” 🪴 @felish_a @YouViewIt38 @MustStopMS don't forget to use the hashtag #chatms !
Must Stop MS! @MustStopMS @makkydoll I had my knee dislocated before but never got it checked out. Prolly should have cause it feels weak all the time and I have to wear a brace every now and then too. #ChatMS
YouViewIt (🕸Y💀uB🎃🎃It🕸) 38 MS @YouViewIt38 @MustStopMS #ChatMS At least I was on time...LOL
Felisha “the knife in the kidney” 🪴 @felish_a Q4: Are you able to drive or do you depend on others for transportation? #chatms
Felisha “the knife in the kidney” 🪴 @felish_a A4: I do not drive since I cannot lift my chair into the car. I am hopefully getting hand controls soon to see if I can go short distances and take my walker #chatms
Must Stop MS! @MustStopMS @moorlandTony And you see way too many kids goofing off on them. At least at the local Walmart here. The store says nothing to them. Once group was purposely running into things with them. #ChatMS
Must Stop MS! @MustStopMS RT @felish_a: Q4: Q4: Are you able to drive or do you depend on others for transportation? #chatms
Patty Long @MSenIt4life @makkydoll I had to leave my walking stick in the car. Told I could use it as a weapon. Mine came from the woods not the store. I reckon it was kinda helpful cause I never got dependent on it before going to PT & stuff. #ChatMS
Marty Hall @jeanmarh20 A4 I no longer drive and have to rely on others for transportation #ChatMS
Must Stop MS! @MustStopMS @makkydoll That was a few years ago 😂. Prolly should have cause it swelled pretty good. #ChatMS
Patty Long @MSenIt4life Right away! #ChatMS
Aleyna @AleynaMoreHuman A4: I drove as long as I could, but realized that it was no longer safe so I had to quit. Absolutely the worst loss I've suffered. #ChatMS
John Yellowcard @jyellowcard @makkydoll No, no , no, that is your armor. #chatms
Felisha “the knife in the kidney” 🪴 @felish_a @H4power @MustStopMS don't forget the hashtag #chatms Hugh :)
Patty Long @MSenIt4life @felish_a Where I live they don’t keep you in the hospital for MS. They set you up an outpatient appt for the infusion center. 🙄 That’s why I travel now. #ChatMS
Felisha “the knife in the kidney” 🪴 @felish_a @MSenIt4life I don't think they usually do here either but I went with my left leg paralyzed and didn't know why sooo... haha I was in a rehab place for 4 of those weeks #chatms
christian . @dearest_monster @felish_a A3 #chatMS ramps or lack thereof
Patty Long @MSenIt4life @felish_a It’s like the rest of MS though, don’t ya think? Happiness isn’t limited to our ability to walk. Or at least I never thought so. #ChatMS
Felisha “the knife in the kidney” 🪴 @felish_a @Aleynamorehuman I agree. It is so very hard to give up driving and that independence #chatms
Felisha “the knife in the kidney” 🪴 @felish_a @jennaville22 don't forget to include the hashtag #chatms :)
John Yellowcard @jyellowcard @makkydoll I drive but I am not sure it’s that good. #chatms
Patty Long @MSenIt4life @Aleynamorehuman We fight don’t we! #ChatMS
Felisha “the knife in the kidney” 🪴 @felish_a Q5: Do you gets stares and/or questions from strangers when out in public? What has been the worst or most awkward encounter? #chatms
Must Stop MS! @MustStopMS RT @felish_a: Q5: Q5: Do you gets stares and/or questions from strangers when out in public? What has been the worst or most awkward encounter? #chatms
Patty Long @MSenIt4life Finding handicapped parking places occupied by people without placards! #ChatMS
Felisha “the knife in the kidney” 🪴 @felish_a A5: I usually don't get too many questions and I def get more stares with my walker than wheelchair. I always find it weird when someone asks if I need help on the toilet. Like.. do you realized what your offering? #chatms
Aleyna @AleynaMoreHuman A5: Interestingly I got more comments with my cane. "You're too young to need a cane." Equal stares with cane and wheelchair. #ChatMS
Patty Long @MSenIt4life @felish_a See, these are more issues that I haven’t had to deal with. The hospital whenever I was there immediately put my wheelchair and their stalls etc seemed made right. Sounds amazingly frustrating! ❤️❤️⚔️ #ChatMS
Marty Hall @jeanmarh20 @koffeelover41 @felish_a Yeah the stares are one thing that I am learning to ignore. I try to put a brave confident mask on #ChatMS
christian . @dearest_monster @felish_a A5 #chatMS I do, but the MS has been apart of me daily for so long I could give zero shits what people say or think. I have to do mine, no time to worry about others not in my life. I'll get questions from time to time and I'll answer
John Yellowcard @jyellowcard @felish_a Things aren’t normally awkward and I would look at me too so I understand. #chatms
Kevin A @Big_in_VA @felish_a A1 - yes I currently use a cane at the insistence of my family. #ChatMS Sorry I am late
Felisha “the knife in the kidney” 🪴 @felish_a @MSenIt4life generally a medical setting the bathrooms are ok but definitely not in the general public. Its a mess haha #chatms
Patty Long @MSenIt4life @koffeelover41 @felish_a I always said let them stare. Told a few I’d be glad to pose for a picture if they wanted. I’m a regular smarta** tho. ❤️⚔️❤️ #ChatMS
Felisha “the knife in the kidney” 🪴 @felish_a Q6: How do you handle questions from children about your aids? #chatms
Must Stop MS! @MustStopMS @koffeelover41 @felish_a Wow #ChatMS
Marty Hall @jeanmarh20 A5 I get the stares from family and friends I haven’t seen in a while #ChatMS
Must Stop MS! @MustStopMS RT @felish_a: Q6: Q6: How do you handle questions from children about your aids? #chatms
Must Stop MS! @MustStopMS @felish_a Great question! #ChatMS
Felisha “the knife in the kidney” 🪴 @felish_a RT @dearest_monster: @felish_a A5 #chatMS I do, but the MS has been apart of me daily for so long I could give zero shits what people say or think. I have to do mine, no time to worry about others not in my life. I'll get questions from time to time and I'll answer
Kevin A @Big_in_VA @felish_a A2 - a few months after diagnosis so I guess it was somewhat gradual. #ChatMS
Aleyna @AleynaMoreHuman A6: I tell the truth. #ChatMS
Felisha “the knife in the kidney” 🪴 @felish_a A6: I have a niece that always asks me why I use something (she's 4) and I just tell her I need help walking and it helps me. She just likes playing with my wheels tho ;) #chatms
John Yellowcard @jyellowcard @felish_a I hit that little freaking whistle bell thing on my scooter and smile. #chatms
Kevin A @Big_in_VA @felish_a A3 - I think doors on commercial buildings can be difficult to hold open with one hand/arm while using the cane. #ChatMS
Felisha “the knife in the kidney” 🪴 @felish_a @MustStopMS @koffeelover41 thats so awful I am so sorry! no one should be treated like that #chatms
Must Stop MS! @MustStopMS A6 - my son was 5 when I was diagnosed and he’s been to every MS walk and has volunteered at other events so he’s groeing up with it. He still asks questions but it’s expected. #ChatMS
Felisha “the knife in the kidney” 🪴 @felish_a Q7: What was the hardest part about adapting to using your aid? The easiest? #chatms
Must Stop MS! @MustStopMS @makkydoll Mini Wild B? #ChatMS
Must Stop MS! @MustStopMS RT @felish_a: Q7: Q7: What was the hardest part about adapting to using your aid? The easiest? #chatms
John Yellowcard @jyellowcard @dearest_monster @felish_a That has been bookmarked... #chatms
christian . @dearest_monster @felish_a @MustStopMS A6 #chatMS been working as a substitute teacher past 2 months and I'm in elementary schools a lot, I get that questions often and I'm just honest with them. I have ms, it does this and affects that, just a quick synopsis. A little girl told me one time, at least you're handsome
Kevin A @Big_in_VA @felish_a A4 - Yes I still drive but parking and getting in and out of my truck gets difficult in some parking situations because I won’t get handicap tags yet. A bit to proud for it yet #ChatMS
Felisha “the knife in the kidney” 🪴 @felish_a A7: not being able to do everyday things as easily like laundry, showering, getting something to eat, etc.. The best part if probably rolling downhill. That usually makes my friends a little jealous #chatms
John Yellowcard @jyellowcard @makkydoll Those are the moments... that are blessed. #chatms
Felisha “the knife in the kidney” 🪴 @felish_a @dearest_monster @MustStopMS omg that is so sweet! kids are the best #chatms
Aleyna @AleynaMoreHuman A7: Hardest: admitting to myself that I needed it. Easiest: the freedom it gave me. #ChatMS
Felisha “the knife in the kidney” 🪴 @felish_a Last questions coming up! This went so fast!! #chatms
Must Stop MS! @MustStopMS RT @felish_a: Last questions coming up! This went so fast!! #chatms
christian . @dearest_monster @felish_a @MustStopMS So very sweet #chatMS
Kevin A @Big_in_VA @felish_a A5 - occasionally I do but I just ignore it. I have had many awkward encounters in life before #MS diagnosis so it is nothing to me now. #ChatMS
Felisha “the knife in the kidney” 🪴 @felish_a Q8: What is one piece of advice you would give to a new mobility aid user or someone who is thinking of getting one? #chatms
Jennifer Rios @jenrios0945 @felish_a @MustStopMS A7: I have been in a motorized chair for about three months now. It is so comfortable! I can’t believe how long I just endured the hardship! #ChatMS
Marty Hall @jeanmarh20 A7 I thought people would see I was handicapped. #ChatMS
Kevin A @Big_in_VA @felish_a A6 - don’t think I have ever had any from children that I recall. #ChatMS
Aleyna @AleynaMoreHuman A8: don't put off getting it if you need it. Not getting it only makes your life suck more. #ChatMS
Marty Hall @jeanmarh20 A7. The easiest part was I stopped falling down in the middle of the street #ChatMS
Must Stop MS! @MustStopMS RT @Aleynamorehuman: A8: A8: don't put off getting it if you need it. Not getting it only makes your life suck more. #ChatMS
Felisha “the knife in the kidney” 🪴 @felish_a A lot of ppl see aids as an ending but they truly are not. They help me still enjoy life and this beautiful world. They are my lifelines to the world. You have to do what is best for you and sometimes that requires some help. #chatms
Must Stop MS! @MustStopMS A8 - having to use an aid is not a negative thing. Do what you need to do to live a normal life as much as you can. #ChatMS

John Yellowcard @jyellowcard @felish_a It wasn’t about adapting to my aids, It was accepting that I needed them. #chatms
Must Stop MS! @MustStopMS @makkydoll Haha #ChatMS
christian . @dearest_monster @felish_a A6 #chatMS I don't think I really ever learned how to properly use my crutches, I know left arm, left leg, right arm, right leg but I just always feel I'm doing it wrong
Kevin A @Big_in_VA @felish_a A7 - learning how to use it to effectively support and assist me when walking was the hardest. The easiest was using to easily reach things on the floor. #ChatMS
Felisha “the knife in the kidney” 🪴 @felish_a RT @Aleynamorehuman: A8: A8: don't put off getting it if you need it. Not getting it only makes your life suck more. #ChatMS
