T2: We’ve had positive experiences as patients: some of our providers utilize online scheduling, patient portals, and mobile check-in. These technologies make a visit to the doctor so much more pain free! #HITsm

@radixhealth Those types of things make a huge difference. I'm still waiting for online scheduling & mobile check-in, although one of my physicians now has a portal. Baby steps? #hitsm

I've been able to see my lab results, email my doctor (with attachments), make appointments, have telemedicine visits, etc. for years now. It makes me sad that eveyrone doesn't have this option. Managing care is so much easier now...

T2: Yes, as a caregiver as well as a patient. As a caregiver (for my Mom in 2000, and for my daughter, a thyroid cancer survivor, in 2014). I was shocked at the #ptsafety issues, the wasted duplication in effort & the flow of data bw facilities & wi the same org #HITsm

More recently, I've gone to visits at @sma_lv and they had easy access to the portal including appointment scheduling and messaging. Easy access to know when referrals have been approved. Pretty seamless experience. #HITsm https://t.co/IBJOFao40X

T2: As you know @khgamble, its tough to work in #HealthIT & to be a #caregiver and notice all of the duplication of time and effort. Lab tests repeated within the same org, bc the data doesn't flow, repeat forms filled out, allergies MIA. (just a few examples). #HITsm

@ShereesePubHlth @techguy #HITsm A KLAS article found a range between 35-95% for provider satisfaction for the same EHR! There are so many ways they can help, and many phsyicians aren't even aware of this because of the choices their org made in the planning phase... missed opportunity

T3: Yes! On the administrative end it removes redundancies, making the #PatientExperience quick & seamless. We would love to see technologies in scheduling, check-in, & patient communications more frequently implemented. Although, we agree there's a learning curve #HITsm

@HealthcareScene @khgamble T3: No. In so many ways. Having availability of digital health records, but taking a yellow piece of legal paper w/me bc meds, PMHX, and allergies were missing. Walking into a room just b4 a fatal dose of antibiotics was given. Falls. Repetitive paperwork. (sigh) #HITsm

My organization (@AbleTo_Health) is a provider of virtual behavioral heath with care delivered by phone or video. Our patients love the ease of access to high quality mental health. Admittedly, I haven’t used telehealth myself! But I do use my PCP’s patient portal.

T3: I love tech, so the bad experiences with providers don't bother me. I also take it as a misunderstanding from the training aspect of how to use the technology when seeing patients. I've experienced with tablets, the EHR for documentation and medical devices. #HITsm

T4: (1/2) Disagree. The tech in healthcare should be held to a higher standard, because healthcare is such a necessity. As the payment model shifts even more towards the consumer, the more leverage the patient will have in their patient journey. #HITsm
