T1 Love this question. With a digital mindset we would approach feedback in REAL-TIME not wait for a survey to arrive well after they are discharged. When you think digitally it's all about knowing NOW so you can do something about it #HITsm

T1 Also think that a digital mindset means doing smaller, more frequent "tests" of patient sentiment not relying on a single massive survey...kinda like those smiley face feedback kiosks you see in airports, restrooms and public areas. #HITsm

@GailZahtz Interesting comment. Are there any EHRs that do patient feedback well? They're designed as billing systems, so my guess is not. I can't think of any that I've seen that have those features. #HITsm

@techguy Patient goes to healthcare provider. Nurse or PA asks questions as prompted by the EHR. Nurse or PA types in answers. We do this on a host of questions including dietary, pain and safety. My issue is- what do we do with the information when we've entered it. Not much. #HITsm

T2: (1 of 2) I think one obvious example is the shift (however subtle) we have seen in how payers engage with claims & outcomes data. It's virtually impossible to be proactive when your decisions are based on events that occurred 30, 60, or 90 days in arears. #hitsm

T3 Well, IF an org has a digital solution that improves clinician workflow, that would be something worth touting as part of the recruitment process. Plus showing staff that you are thinking about their work & actively finding ways to improve it...good for retention #HITsm

@GailZahtz Hi Gail, In my previous experience with a mobile health start-up, we incented kids w/ asthma to track adherence to their action plan on a mobile app that was reported to their payer-based care manager in real time! Adherence skyrocketed and unplanned admissions crashed! #HITSM
