| Teresa Buchan @teresa_buchan [REDACTED USER] Supervision can be task orientated at times, whilst supportive is focused, whereas mentoring is long term view of individual progression. There is a close simile, but a mentoring/coaching approach can be used within supervision to effect change and growth #OTalk |

Supervision is a conversation to allow for reflection, learning and growth and this cannot be forced in any framework. #OTalk |

| Bill Wong, OTD, OTR/L @BillWongOT [REDACTED USER] This is a good question. In the states, our level 1 placements are not necessarily supervised by an OT practitioner. #otalk |

I think some students can benefit from developing fundamentals in a setting first from an OT practitioner before progressing to not necessarily getting supervised by one. #otalk |

Practice should be reflected against professional standards and professional skills which others cannot do effectively, they can however open other thought processes and approaches to learn #OTalk |

To rely on support from non-OT’s in terms of how to run one of these events was a great learning experience.
