But, while I informally still do some research today, having placement students was what led me to think about teaching. #OTALK |

| Bill Wong, OTD, OTR/L @BillWongOT But through talking to my friends, I have gotten to know that some OT (or OTA) departments in the USA can be more competitive in terms of application process than others. So, ever since I qualified, I tried to slowly build a competitive CV. #OTALK |

However, I don't feel a return to my alma mater is in the plans yet... as I felt that I have the most career successes when expectations on me are lower. At the time, I didn't know at the time that this effort allows me to have flexibility about what type of programs I can teach. #otalk |

| Bill Wong, OTD, OTR/L @BillWongOT @El_Cecil_ in my early OT studies, I know my instructors quietly hoped for me would go for a PhD. After all, my stats background can come in handy... as they thought I would help develop some cool and relevant assessments. But, the transition to OT was what got me. #otalk |

It's hard to replicate a perfect score on Math while I didn't know how much improvements I would make over my crappy verbal session. So, I gave myself a 2 year window. #otalk |

I believe that I can contribute to research, too... just need to find the right persons. Don't want do my "judge-jury-executioner" research any more. #otalk |

While I didn't have to grade papers yet, being consistent on grading lab practicums is an area I am striving to get better. #otalk |

I was open to my current program director that I need to adjust to the culture of my uni (since I was used to traditional uni's in the past and I only got bits and pieces from my previous placement students). Instead of being hard on myself, my students used that as a blooper moment that also served as a bonding moment (as I let my students poke fun of me). #otalk |
