#Otalk Okay, so we have a few introductions, with some of our committee on which is great. Although we are a stroke forum, and much of our experience of driving is with people with stroke, please feel free to consider other conditions
Bill Wong, OTD, OTR/L @BillWongOT
@GeorgiaVineOT @OTalk_ @colourful_ot haha! I usually would be munching lunch instead of dinner... though my food for both usually are similar. #otalk

#Otalk ready for question 1? Before we start considering our service users, driving is an important occupation for many of us. Q1: What does the occupation of driving mean to you?

Lots of comments around links with independence. I wonder how much this differs dependent on geography- those in isolated areas, versus cosmopolitan areas with amenities locally, public transport access etc #OTalk
James Lampert @uk_james
@BillWongOT @NicoleCWalmsley Hopefully not too many traffic jams!? I spend a lot of time driving all over the UK for work. One of the side benefit occupations is listening to the radio whilst I’m doing it. Keeps me up to date on current affairs #OTalk #Brexit (sorry for bringing that into it!)
Bill Wong, OTD, OTR/L @BillWongOT

#Otalk so while thoughts continue to come in for Q1, we have strong themes of driving giving freedom to access other occupations including work and actually being a container in which to do occupation like singing. A recent man I worked with ate lunch beside a pond in his car

@NicoleCWalmsley @OTalk_ If someone wants to build confidence post-stroke and there aren’t any concerns based on cog, visual ax we can recommend ‘refamiliarization lessons’ with local driving instructors. We do refer for an on road assessment if capacity to drive needs formal assessment. #OTalk
