@PNDandMe Great opener Rosey - really useful for HCPs inc GPs to ask about this - I tend to use “ how are finding pregnancy / motherhood? Is it everything that you expected?” #pndhour
Jo @PNDwithNo3
@PNDandMe Maybe I am not very typical but my experiences during all three pregnancies were more positive than I had expected after what I had heard from others? #PNDHour

@PNDandMe That's true. I was actually really sick most of the time but still enjoyed being pregnant. (I might have started to forget the worst bits already!! ;) #PNDHour

@DBpsychology @PNDandMe tricky balance for HCPs inc GPs to suggest early on that things don’t always go perfectly in pregnancy but impt they do have the conversation so that women know it’s ok to come and talk if they are struggling -#pndhour
Carrie Ladd @LaddCar
@DBpsychology @eviecanavan @PNDandMe I tend to mention this towards the end of pregnancy and ask about what support they have at home, how their partner may be able to help when needed to encourage women to think about how they will cope when the baby arrives but it is hard to discuss! #pndhour

@PNDandMe #PNDHour I thought I was a patient person, I thought breastfeeding would come naturally and I thought I'd generally be a lot more capable than I was. But it was the pain (emotional and physical) of not finding breastfeeding easy that was key so much of it I think.
Jo @PNDwithNo3
@PNDandMe After having 2 children I felt like an experienced mum. No3 completely changed that - everything was different and much harder (birth, problems with feeding, weight gain, several health problems later on.) Everyone expected me to know what I was doing and I had no idea #PNDHour
Jo @PNDwithNo3
@PNDandMe @PoetsHaveTaken My breastfeeding experience with the first two was very positive. It was only with No3 that I realised how difficult it can be! Helped me a lot to understand others better... #PNDHour

@miss_sitch @PNDandMe #PNDHour Yes! I think telling parents up front that everyone's experience will be different is crucial. Different people find different things hard, some babies sleep less, cry more, some parents fall in love with baby instantly, some don't. All those experiences are valid!

@PNDandMe I remember the Health Visitor always saying: "You know what you are doing..." "You have done this before..." She even asked me for advice regarding school for her (only) daughter! Didn't help me to open up about struggeling the third time around... #PNDHour
