Sue Wood @TruthPathing RT @cannonfyre12: #PTSDChat my clocks are not of time are they? It is actually 9pm yes?
Sue Wood @TruthPathing @cannonfyre12 Yes! #ptsdchat
Tim Grutzius @holisticff @TruthPathing A1 My self care/action plan consists of stress management, mindful practices, exercise, nutrition, and peer support. #ptsdchat. It is my goal to touch on each of these cornerstones to a more balanced life.
The Doc as eR+T=L living on purpose! @CosmicLifeOfMe #PTSDChat suggestion for inner peace and strength : dance as hard as you sit, laugh harder than you cry, and ask for help when you need it.
Sue Wood @TruthPathing @holisticff Thank you, @holisticff , for posting about self-care a couple weeks back on your page! Makes for a great topic! #ptsdchat

The Happy Hunker @bannedtweet A2: Schedule . . . . schedule . . . #PTSDChat
Tim Grutzius @holisticff @TruthPathing A2 I have set a routine that I consistently follow on a daily basis. Some of it is set in a calendar that is flexible to allow for the daily flux of life. #ptsdchat

Sue Wood @TruthPathing @holisticff Peer support for you and by you... #ptsdchat
Tim Grutzius @holisticff @silentlyliving4 @TruthPathing Hi Kelly, self care is about doing the best you can with what you have in each moment, and then look towards tomorrow. It is about setting aside time for you to exhale- even if you start with just 5 seconds a day. #ptsdchat
Sue Wood @TruthPathing @silentlyliving4 Part of your self-care, then, the beginning, is finding that out. Do you have people to help you with this in any way? #ptsdchat
Tim Grutzius @holisticff RT @TruthPathing: @holisticff Thank you, @holisticff , for posting about self-care a couple weeks back on your page! Makes for a great topic! #ptsdchat
Tim Grutzius @holisticff @TruthPathing You are so welcome Sue. #ptsdchat

The Happy Hunker @bannedtweet A3:a See A2 A3b Motivation: If I'm thinking about it, I'm already motivated. A3 whatever: Basically I go over the endless of stuff I should do to improve & pick whatever is most likely to get done. #PTSDChat
Sue Wood @TruthPathing RT @holisticff: @TruthPathing A2 I have set a routine that I consistently follow on a daily basis. Some of it is set in a calendar that is flexible to allow for the daily flux of life. #ptsdchat
Sue Wood @TruthPathing I have found that if I have a few things I always do at first (take dogs out/feed them, read what is scheduled for the day) onndays off, Thst sets the pattern for adding to the day. #ptsdchat
Tim Grutzius @holisticff @TruthPathing A3 I have put some of it in a google calendar on my phone, but I allow for the obstacle's that life throws me. If I cannot make something on my schedule, then I just look towards tomorrow. My main motivation is to improve my quality of life as I age. #ptsdchat

Sue Wood @TruthPathing RT @cannonfyre12: #PTSDChat A1. Accept that I will have to live with triggers and effects. Seek options for healing at least to some extent. Help anyone else who seeks some peace of mind. Share all of the story of my journey, not just the good parts because being whole is what truly matters.
Sue Wood @TruthPathing @cannonfyre12 So true. #ptsdchat
Tim Grutzius @holisticff @silentlyliving4 @TruthPathing what you do is the activities of daily living which are uber important to a balanced life. On the weekends, try getting out in nature and just marvel at the wonders Mother Nature offers- that is self care too. #ptsdchat
Sue Wood @TruthPathing RT @cannonfyre12: #PTSDChat A2. I write my self care schedule and I make efforts to follow it. When I fall in doing so, I record the event to keep a record of why I didn't and of how I was feeling when I didn't. I hope this will help me incorporate feelings with actions & lessen the disruptions
The Happy Hunker @bannedtweet A4: There's that word again. One challenge with schedules is that they're totally oblivious to the reality of the day. I think most things can go forward w/o scheduling. #PTSDChat
Tim Grutzius @holisticff @cannonfyre12 My brother, I am so thrilled you are here to be able to participate. Everything you offer is assistive to all who are here this, and every Wednesday evening. #ptsdchat
Sue Wood @TruthPathing @cannonfyre12 Great idea. Not blaming yourself, but figuring things out for future use. #ptsdchat So often we are in the middle of blaming ourselves before we realize what we are doing.
Sue Wood @TruthPathing RT @cannonfyre12: #PTSDChat A3. Keeling it all in my self - care journal helps me. This journal IS my life's - journey - Bible. I keep it all in here, all of it. I color code and can reference back to events from years ago to see progress or lack of same. It's my way of doing this #PTSI life.
Tim Grutzius @holisticff @TruthPathing A4 I need to set things on a schedule but it cannot be regimented as I would meet with a high level of frustration if I could not meet all of my goals. I do what I can and then move on. #ptsdchat
Sue Wood @TruthPathing @cannonfyre12 Sounds like that has made a great difference? #ptsdchat
Sue Wood @TruthPathing RT @holisticff: @TruthPathing A4 I need to set things on a schedule but it cannot be regimented as I would meet with a high level of frustration if I could not meet all of my goals. I do what I can and then move on. #ptsdchat
Tim Grutzius @holisticff @bannedtweet I also start with the things that are most likely to be accomplished first. Then I move to the bigger projects. #ptsdchat. Always do the best you can.
Sue Wood @TruthPathing @holisticff I think that is the case for many, but the gentler alternative is not really taught as much. #ptsdchat
Tim Grutzius @holisticff @TruthPathing The more we repeat this process, the more successful we will be at the more long term goals. #ptsdchat
Tinu, Empress of Twerk, Thirst of My Line @Tinu RT @cannonfyre12: #PTSDChat A3. Keeling it all in my self - care journal helps me. This journal IS my life's - journey - Bible. I keep it all in here, all of it. I color code and can reference back to events from years ago to see progress or lack of same. It's my way of doing this #PTSI life.
The Happy Hunker @bannedtweet How about this. Everything is on the schedule, at all times. Since I can't do everything, I figure out what can be done and do that. #PTSDChat
Sue Wood @TruthPathing RT @cannonfyre12: #PTSDChat A4. Reintegration exudes oppression. No, I would disagree with the practice. Schedule but be alright with yourself when you don't file it to the second. That's just adding to the stress to feel under the microscope even by your own standards. Keep it flexible if you can
Tim Grutzius @holisticff @bannedtweet Amen to that my friend. #ptsdchat
Sue Wood @TruthPathing @cannonfyre12 Agreed. Lessening stress is one of the most important reasons for doing this, anyway. #ptsdchat
Sue Wood @TruthPathing RT @cannonfyre12: #PTSDChat good questions! I'm answering early because I'm here and it's been a hectic day. I wanted to try to add to the conversation tonight. I hope that whatever I say has an assistive quality attached to the words. This is always my hope.
Tim Grutzius @holisticff @TruthPathing The benefits of completed goals are far more important, along with the decreased stress levels. #ptsdchat
Sue Wood @TruthPathing @cannonfyre12 You always help! Answering early, during chat, or even later, for those who cannot be here now, is just fine. #ptsdchat Also, we encourage everyone who wishes to, to participate.
Tim Grutzius @holisticff @silentlyliving4 @TruthPathing Can you explain what you mean by plural (if you want to)? #ptsdchat
Tim Grutzius @holisticff @cannonfyre12 @TruthPathing Hooah my Army friend!!! #ptsdchat
Sue Wood @TruthPathing RT @holisticff: @cannonfyre12 My brother, I am so thrilled you are here to be able to participate. Everything you offer is assistive to all who are here this, and every Wednesday evening. #ptsdchat
Tim Grutzius @holisticff @TruthPathing Breathe in, breathe out - move on (Jimmy Buffett) #ptsdchat
Sue Wood @TruthPathing @cannonfyre12 @holisticff Keep being you, keep fighting, as you do! #ptsdchat
Tim Grutzius @holisticff @cannonfyre12 That is what makes you a strong and admired person to many who attend this chat and on the Twittersphere. #ptsdchat
Sue Wood @TruthPathing RT @holisticff: @silentlyliving4 @TruthPathing what you do is the activities of daily living which are uber important to a balanced life. On the weekends, try getting out in nature and just marvel at the wonders Mother Nature offers- that is self care too. #ptsdchat
Tim Grutzius @holisticff RT @TruthPathing: @cannonfyre12 @holisticff Keep being you, keep fighting, as you do! #ptsdchat
Sue Wood @TruthPathing @silentlyliving4 @holisticff Sometimes asking friends or those who are often around you what they see you are drawn to doing can help. Someone once asked me if my fav color was lavender ‘cause I wore it so much. Turns out it is a most soothing color to me that I overlooked. #ptsdchat
Tim Grutzius @holisticff @TruthPathing This is why we show up here to share the wisdom of our years so that all can learn. #ptsdchat
Sue Wood @TruthPathing RT @bannedtweet: A4: A4: There's that word again. One challenge with schedules is that they're totally oblivious to the reality of the day. I think most things can go forward w/o scheduling. #PTSDChat
Tim Grutzius @holisticff @TruthPathing @silentlyliving4 Working with like-minded indivduals with your same interests can help you find direction as well. #ptsdchat
Tim Grutzius @holisticff @cannonfyre12 @TruthPathing I come up with some good ones every once in awhile. #ptsdchat
Sue Wood @TruthPathing @bannedtweet Not disagreeing. How about maybe “list”, not schedule? Good point. That “pre-builds in” flexibility! #ptsdchat How do you keep track of what you get done? Or does it really matter? (Serious question)
The Happy Hunker @bannedtweet @silentlyliving4 @holisticff @TruthPathing I had a friend w/ MPD. I mean she had the real article too. I don't have the words to express how complex and difficult a road it is - for the individual and their caregivers. The road that led there was no easier. #PTSDChat
Sue Wood @TruthPathing @cannonfyre12 And to you. We are truly here to help each other. #ptsdchat
Bren Comacchio @brencomacchio @TruthPathing No self judgment. Recognize some days I can move mountains, other days I can only sit on the beach and watch the waves roll in. Meditation, music, reading. Healthier food choices and water. #PTSDChat

The Happy Hunker @bannedtweet @TruthPathing I don't know why I'd keep track. If I have progress then I have some better ability and that will showcase itself. #PTSDChat

Sue Wood @TruthPathing @cannonfyre12 Important point. Keep trying, even non-standard things. & trustvu to know u. Also, you are an active, decidion-making participant of your treatment team. That cannot be stressed enough! #ptsdchat

Bren Comacchio @brencomacchio @TruthPathing I have found, that it has to be the 1st thing I do each day, otherwise it doesn't happen. The challenge is creating the pattern/behaviour, then it becomes habit. What motivates me is how much better I feel if I start my day this way. #PTSDChat

Sue Wood @TruthPathing @silentlyliving4 @holisticff Do you work with a main or stronger identity to get more relief? That may not even apply. #ptsdchat Your finding it difficult to find overriding relief has to be incredibly difficult.

Sue Wood @TruthPathing @cannonfyre12 @bannedtweet The recording, for some, could be the distraction/problem/negative for done. For you (& those you help), it is a solution. No one is right or wrong.
