Good evening and welcome to tonights #physiotalk
physiotalk @physiotalk
Before we start with the questions the usual chance to say hello! Let us know who you are and where you are tweeting from #physiotalk
Anna Spiteri @spiteri_anna
Hello, I am hosting the #physiotalk tonight. It's a great subject. Do pop by and say hello but don't forget the hashtag#Physiotalk
physiotalk @physiotalk
A reminder as well to make sure that you put our hashtag into all your tweets please! That’s #physiotalk in all your tweets.

@physiotalk Hello! I'm one of the team on the @physiotalk account tonight tweeting from Edinburgh #physiotalk
Liz Cowan BSc Hons,MCSP.Cheshire Children's Physio @liziophysio1
@physiotalk #physiotalk Hi Liz, independent childrens physio, tweeting from Warrington.
Amy Jepson @AmyDolling
@physiotalk Evening all! I’m Amy, a children’s physio from Eastbourne, just about to return to work next week from 6 months parental leave! Eeek! #physiotalk
physiotalk @physiotalk
@liziophysio1 Welcome! #physiotalk
physiotalk @physiotalk
Here we go. We are looking forward to meeting some new faces tonight. Make 2020 your year to send your first tweet. Just add the hashtag #Physiotalk
Liz Cowan BSc Hons,MCSP.Cheshire Children's Physio @liziophysio1
@physiotalk is that 3 paeds physios so far, that's good! #physiotalk
Anna Spiteri @spiteri_anna
Hello I'm one of the #Physiotalk team tonight tweeting from London. Join in the conversation . Just add the #Physiotalk to all your comments and replies.
physiotalk @physiotalk
Having a few tweetdeck problems at this end - but lets get going anyway with our first question (I just am having issues seeing all your replies!) #physiotalk
physiotalk @physiotalk
Tonights chat is all about #physiotalk – we want you to let us know what works and what doesn’t about our chats. So, a few more questions than normal tonight.
physiotalk @physiotalk
Question number one! Do you think Physiotalk should change? #physiotalk
Liz Cowan BSc Hons,MCSP.Cheshire Children's Physio @liziophysio1
@physiotalk I think as a user I need to ensure I convert the time into useful CPD, or chill and class it as networking. It is not always both for me. But I think that is down to the user not the format or anything. #physiotalk
physiotalk @physiotalk
Tweetdeck refreshed and I think I'm all sorted. The RT and like buttons have reappeared as well - phew... #physiotalk
Anna Spiteri @spiteri_anna
@physiotalk It’s a great opportunity to get tweeting even if you are a first time tweeter. The support from the team at Physiotalk is great #Physiotalk
Dr Angie Logan @logan_angie
@physiotalk Hello. Angie from Devon #PhysioTalk
physiotalk @physiotalk
@liziophysio1 I think that's always going to be the case? But could the format be tweaked to help you with useful CPD or networking? #physiotalk

Liz Cowan BSc Hons,MCSP.Cheshire Children's Physio @liziophysio1
@physiotalk #physiotalk on my To-do list is to set up a journal club, I had imagined the format would be similar to this so it would be helpful if @physiotalk did a journal club thing every so often. Is that me passing the buck? only rhetorical as I know the answer!!
Amy Jepson @AmyDolling
@physiotalk @liziophysio1 Yes! But not really sure how. The scripts can be long and wordy, so unreadable. Capturing the information better following a #physiotalk would help make it easier to look back on and store for CPD.
physiotalk @physiotalk
@liziophysio1 We have in the past - and it could well be one of the questions coming up later :) #physiotalk
physiotalk @physiotalk
@AmyDolling @liziophysio1 We reply on Symplur for transcripts - and they are chronological, rather than following conversation threads. Anyone know of anything else we could use? #physiotalk
Anna Spiteri @spiteri_anna
@physiotalk Help with documenting the learning for revaluation with @The_HCPC. @thecsp revaluation this year. 😂#Physiotalk
Liz Cowan BSc Hons,MCSP.Cheshire Children's Physio @liziophysio1
@AmyDolling @physiotalk it is sometimes such rapid fire that it is hard to keep up during the tweetchat, but the transcripts are hard as out of context and order. #physiotalk
physiotalk @physiotalk
So - next question coming up (I said there would be more tonight!) #physiotalk
physiotalk @physiotalk
Do you think #twitter is the right forum for Physiotalk (and if not - alternative suggestions please!) #physiotalk
Dr Angie Logan @logan_angie
@physiotalk It’s helpful to reflect & evaluate on current format. Perhaps firstly it would be useful to determine what folk want to get out of #PhysioTalk & evaluate if what is currently offered meets expectations/need.
Liz Cowan BSc Hons,MCSP.Cheshire Children's Physio @liziophysio1
@physiotalk @AmyDolling Have you liaised with @physiopedia ? They seem very techy. #physiotalk

physiotalk @physiotalk
@logan_angie We have run two research projects so far on Physiotalk and it seems to meet needs for CPD for both active participants and lurkers. But could we be better? #physiotalk
physiotalk @physiotalk
#physiotalk
physiotalk @physiotalk
@liziophysio1 @AmyDolling @physiopedia We want the format to be as accessible to everyone so that everyone can get the benefit of the network we have established #physiotalk
physiotalk @physiotalk
@AmyDolling Can you have a conversation thread in same way on Instagram? #physiotalk
physiotalk @physiotalk
@AmyDolling @liziophysio1 Good point #Physiotalk
physiotalk @physiotalk
#physiotalk
Amy Jepson @AmyDolling
@physiotalk Twitter is mostly my professional face. I wouldn’t want to use Facebook as it’s mostly personal for me. And I wouldn’t logon to other platforms often enough to end up stumbling across #physiotalk elsewhere! 😅
Liz Cowan BSc Hons,MCSP.Cheshire Children's Physio @liziophysio1
@physiotalk @logan_angie I go through phases of being able to join in.or then not joining in for a while/or not feeling it is relevant ..But when I do invest time on it I then maybe don't want to acknowledge that it may not be useful, so is the research biased? #physiotalk Hosting is very useful
Andrew Bateman @DrAndrewBateman
@physiotalk Oops 🙄#physiotalk
physiotalk @physiotalk
@DrAndrewBateman Concurrently with a chat or separately? Aware of our budget restrictions for some options as well (i.e We don't have a budget!) #physiotalk
physiotalk @physiotalk
@DrAndrewBateman @AmyDolling Thanks for this! I'm an Instagram novice #physiotalk
physiotalk @physiotalk
@liziophysio1 @logan_angie Second research was with lurkers - so non tweeters during chat, so hopefully less biased! #physiotalk
Sandy Hilton @SandyHiltonPT
@physiotalk I prefer twitter to IG or Facebook. #physiotalk
Liz Cowan BSc Hons,MCSP.Cheshire Children's Physio @liziophysio1
@physiotalk @logan_angie I like that it is visible therefore accountable. Though sometimes I do feel embarrassed at the profession washing its laundry in public. There are already private sites available as well if needed, eg private facebook sites etc #physiotalk

Janet Thomas @JanetThomas47
@MelroseStewart1 @physiotalk @DrAndrewBateman @AmyDolling That's what I find too - but not quite sure what platform offers the same real time discussions as Twitter? #physiotalk
physiotalk @physiotalk
Thanks for suggestions around platforms such as Zoom etc Onto the next question! #physiotalk
physiotalk @physiotalk
What about the frequency, time, chat length and day for Physiotalk? #physiotalk
Liz Cowan BSc Hons,MCSP.Cheshire Children's Physio @liziophysio1
@MelroseStewart1 @physiotalk @DrAndrewBateman @AmyDolling and twitter feels quite politically left wing, don't know if that adds a bias or not. Is it the case that you always have to post a pic on Instagram,I use insta as more light-hearted communication #physiotalk
Anna Spiteri @spiteri_anna
RT @physiotalk: Thanks for suggestions around platforms such as Zoom etc Onto the next question! #physiotalk
Dr Melrose Stewart MBE @MelroseStewart1
@SandyHiltonPT @physiotalk Same here but I wonder why if it is because twitter is less picturesque and and social and can be more 'professionally' orientated in some ways? #physiotalk
Anna Spiteri @spiteri_anna
@physiotalk #physiotalk I like the fact it’s 8.30pm.
Dr Angie Logan @logan_angie
@physiotalk #PhysioTalk a lot of students are on Instagram and use that & Facebook to network & communicate, they’re not on Twitter.
Liz Cowan BSc Hons,MCSP.Cheshire Children's Physio @liziophysio1
@physiotalk would an early morning slot grab some train commuters? I would rather protect my evenings so would be happy with trials of lunchtime or early slots. The hour seems to fly but it is good to keep it to that I think. #physiotalk
physiotalk @physiotalk
Some of these questions are also asked in our SurveyMonkey polls (So I'm not running twitter polls as well - sorry!) #physiotalk https://t.co/CDficmi7KA
physiotalk @physiotalk
@liziophysio1 Hmmm - breakfast with @physiotalk perhaps? What do others think? #physiotalk
Dr Melrose Stewart MBE @MelroseStewart1
@JanetThomas47 @physiotalk @DrAndrewBateman @AmyDolling I don't know enough about the other platforms but they appear to be more for chatting, chilling, socialising and not for work! Perhaps that's probably why they are more popular lol #physiotalk
Dr Angie Logan @logan_angie
@physiotalk You could alternate? If you had two per month, one could be early or lunchtime & one evening. You’ll never please everyone but having options may reach a wider audience #physiotalk
physiotalk @physiotalk
@AmyDolling I know! Like asking if Twitter works on Twitter! Thats why we have our survey open as well... https://t.co/CDficmi7KA #physiotalk
Anna Spiteri @spiteri_anna
@liziophysio1 @physiotalk Early mornings or lunchtimes would definitely count me out #Physiotalk. Personally I prefer evenings. What do others think?
physiotalk @physiotalk
Half way through - so time to look away from platforms and times to content and themes #physiotalk
physiotalk @physiotalk
Should we look at more focussed topics or broader areas? #physiotalk

Amy Jepson @AmyDolling
@physiotalk #physiotalk I’ve found the mix has been right. It’s good to go broad occasionally to capture more people who might feel they can contribute. But then more specific physiotalks have given some really good insight in specialist areas. Benefits of both. Which gets the best response?

@physiotalk @logan_angie @MelroseStewart1 @CSPsouthwest is the "blog site" where you put the old chats and the pre chat questions? #physiotalk
physiotalk @physiotalk
@AmyDolling Very variable! Depends on the numbers of interested physios - so MSK or education topics often busier but still important to have chats around smaller specialities #physiotalk
physiotalk @physiotalk
@liziophysio1 @logan_angie @MelroseStewart1 @CSPsouthwest Yes -www.physiotalk.co.uk #physiotalk
Amy Jepson @AmyDolling
@physiotalk Yes that makes sense. Have you ever been given space to advertise upcoming talks in Frontline? Not sure I’ve ever seen it in there, but might grab some attention? #physiotalk
physiotalk @physiotalk
Help - 15 mins to go and a few questions left - so here goes with a few more.... #physiotalk
Dr Angie Logan @logan_angie
@physiotalk I like a mix of both. #physiotalk I think having themes would allow more depth of discussion of a topic.
physiotalk @physiotalk
What about theming several Physiotalk topics over a month – or do you like the variety? #physiotalk
Liz Cowan BSc Hons,MCSP.Cheshire Children's Physio @liziophysio1
Do you have any idea what the participation numbers for @physiotalk are in comparison to the number of AHPs that engage in #ahpsActive ? #physiotalk
physiotalk @physiotalk
@AmyDolling @thecsp and all the networks have been very supportive We've never advertised as such, but have had some coverage in Frontline especially when we started - something to think about #physiotalk
Dr Melrose Stewart MBE @MelroseStewart1
@AmyDolling @physiotalk Yes, getting word about upcoming topics in other popular media spaces including Instagram and Facebook etc could attract further interest #physiotalk

Andrew Bateman @DrAndrewBateman
@JanetThomas47 @MelroseStewart1 @physiotalk @AmyDolling #physiotalk you could use hangout or Facebook
Dr Melrose Stewart MBE @MelroseStewart1
@physiotalk @AmyDolling @thecsp Yes, need to advertise topics as widely as possible with the assistance of network groups, followers, students, etc #physiotalk
physiotalk @physiotalk
RT @physiotalk: What about theming several Physiotalk topics over a month – or do you like the variety? #physiotalk
Amy Jepson @AmyDolling
@MelroseStewart1 @physiotalk Definitely! I must admit, I often accidentally stumble across an ongoing #physiotalk rather than arrange my time to participate in it! Sorry! 😳 But more word spread would remind people leading up to the session!
Naomi McVey 🐝 @NaomiMcVey
@physiotalk @liziophysio1 @WeAHPs For tweetchats about the same, but notifications for @WeAHPs much busier on a day to day basis so people tending to mention or tag @WeAHPs more; #AHPsActive a bit different as runs did just a month #physiotalk
physiotalk @physiotalk
Nest question coming up! #physiotalk
physiotalk @physiotalk

Dr Melrose Stewart MBE @MelroseStewart1
@DrAndrewBateman @physiotalk @JanetThomas47 @AmyDolling So many new avenues to exploring and learning in social media that keeping abreast is a challenge! Anyone know of an appropriate course? lol #physiotalk
Liz Cowan BSc Hons,MCSP.Cheshire Children's Physio @liziophysio1
@physiotalk Would it be too scary to pit some "top Guns" against each other as co-hosts, such as Bobath supporters versus Functional mvt,; or MSK opposite thinkers equivalent. And really discuss issues that may ignite passion #physiotalk
Dr Melrose Stewart MBE @MelroseStewart1
@AmyDolling @physiotalk And often time is limited so dipping in a out is all that is feasible unless it is a topic of special interest #physiotalk

RT @physiotalk: Are the blogs on https://t.co/jrHgzO5TyC useful? #physiotalk
physiotalk @physiotalk
@MelroseStewart1 Agree. Not too concerned about numbers as large numbers often mean so many tweets that people cant keep up! Quality over quantity often more meaningful for CPD #physiotalk
Dr Melrose Stewart MBE @MelroseStewart1
@physiotalk Yes, I think so. They help to focus the main issues for interested parties. #physiotalk

Andrew Bateman @DrAndrewBateman
@physiotalk And how about a podcast or vlog in advance instead of a blog. I mean you require all this reading 😂 #physiotalk
physiotalk @physiotalk
