I'm on the [REDACTED USER] account tonight. I'm a registered physiotherapist who works with some fabulous support workers! #physiotalk
@
[REDACTED USER] Hello 👋 I am a Rehab Services lead at Nuffield Health #physiotalk
Claire Fordham (she/her) @ClaireFordham5
[REDACTED USER] Hello! Claire here, Professional Adviser [REDACTED USER] I lead on all things support workers and really looking forward to this chat tonight and supporting our magnificent members [REDACTED USER] [REDACTED USER] @LorraineAllchu2 [REDACTED USER] #physiotalk
Katie @KatieBaxter95
Hi 😊 Im a Physiotherapy Technical Instructor #physiotalk
Jennifer Atkinson @Jenni4Atkinson
[REDACTED USER] #physiotalk Good evening, physio, previous physio assistant.
Jennifer Atkinson @Jenni4Atkinson
[REDACTED USER] #absolutely. I’m pleased it seems that there’s much more recognition for the role and value recognition than perhaps when I did it #physiotalk
KATE WALTON @KATEWAL70147393
@LorraineAllchu2 [REDACTED USER] [REDACTED USER] Rehab Assistant at Hobbs rehabilitation, Neurological rehab specialist #physiotalk
Janet Thomas @JanetThomas47
[REDACTED USER] I'm in Scotland, so it is SVQ and HNC as well as in house and clinical courses. No availability of foundation degrees or apprenticeships at present! #physiotalk
Ellie Newton @Ellie_Newton39
[REDACTED USER] Hi there. Ellie here, Deputy Professional Head of Physiotherapy and keen to develop our support workforce #Physiotalk
Claire Fordham (she/her) @ClaireFordham5
[REDACTED USER] We're really clear [REDACTED USER] about what our support workforce should be able to access locally https://t.co/ZQgPxaepsQ we'd encourage everyone to use the detail in this statement #physiotalk
Claire Fordham (she/her) @ClaireFordham5
@Jusgreaves28 [REDACTED USER] We're working really hard to influence for this in Scotland! #physiotalk
Pam Watkins💙 @PWtherapist
#physiotalk We have opportunities for Band 5 staff to have teaching sessions with non qualified staff , on a monthly basis . Used to try NVQ but with little success .
Claire Fordham (she/her) @ClaireFordham5
[REDACTED USER] @Jusgreaves28 Definitely an issue with equity, structure and standardisation. All AHP prof bodies agree that this is not good enough for our support workforces https://t.co/q1jnivrayR #physiotalk
Ellie Newton @Ellie_Newton39
[REDACTED USER] We support regular IST sessions that are held virtually at present for all of our Physio support workforce. External courses that are recognised as essential to role and apprenticeships, level 3 and 5 and progression to level 6 #physiotalk
Claire Fordham (she/her) @ClaireFordham5
[REDACTED USER] [REDACTED USER] Hoping to see the spread of the level 4 across Wales! #physiotalk
Claire Fordham (she/her) @ClaireFordham5
#physiotalk
Janet Thomas @JanetThomas47
[REDACTED USER] @LorraineAllchu2 [REDACTED USER] @Jusgreaves28 So true! A SW I work alongside was frustrated for a long time by the lack of formal available educational opportunities #physiotalk
Claire Fordham (she/her) @ClaireFordham5
[REDACTED USER] Physio support workers with accredited exercise qualifications are sooooo valuable to rehab services and registered staff can learn so much from them too! #physiotalk
Katie @KatieBaxter95
[REDACTED USER] [REDACTED USER] I'm completely new to the role and I would totally agree with you, Twitter is a great learning tool #physiotalk
Janet Thomas @JanetThomas47
@_HelenAlexander [REDACTED USER] [REDACTED USER] [REDACTED USER] And [REDACTED USER] for PSI /Otago as well of course #physiotalk
Jennifer Atkinson @Jenni4Atkinson
@ClaireFordham5 [REDACTED USER] Completely. Recruitment opportunities perhaps lie hear also. Effective rehab from those who qualify specifically in this area would enhance effectiveness.
Claire Fordham (she/her) @ClaireFordham5
@Jusgreaves28 [REDACTED USER] Often optimising the full capability of these staff is hampered by Band 4 role scope in the NHS #physiotalk
Michael MacArtney @mike_mac93
[REDACTED USER] Hi all, I have my interview on Wednesday to hopefully begin an undergraduate Physiotherapy degree in September. I'm preparing the best I can, any last minute hints/tips/advice would be greatly appreciated! 👍 #physiotalk #physiotherapy #physio
Ellie Newton @Ellie_Newton39
[REDACTED USER] Definitely and keen to develop further roles for those with Health and Exercise Practice qualifications across many of our services. I'm sure we could review more of our practice areas for skills required and not role to widen utilising these other qualifications #physiotalk
Claire Fordham (she/her) @ClaireFordham5
[REDACTED USER] @LorraineAllchu2 [REDACTED USER] @Jusgreaves28 All about workplace culture. Our support workforce need to feel that their development is just as critical and important to patient safety and personal growth as the registered staff #physiotalk
Claire Fordham (she/her) @ClaireFordham5
@Jusgreaves28 [REDACTED USER] @LorraineAllchu2 [REDACTED USER] Absolutely, personal development plans and equitable access to a range of CPD options #physiotalk
Claire Fordham (she/her) @ClaireFordham5
@LorraineAllchu2 [REDACTED USER] [REDACTED USER] @Jusgreaves28 Yes!!!! #physiotalk
Ellie Newton @Ellie_Newton39
[REDACTED USER] Workforce planning and modelling to enable support workers to complete their training and qualifications with roles to progress in to #physiotalk
KATE WALTON @KATEWAL70147393
[REDACTED USER] #physiotalk
Claire Fordham (she/her) @ClaireFordham5
[REDACTED USER] [REDACTED USER] If you are in England Heather you should think about challenging that and asking for support to complete functional skills qualification which should be included if you don't have maths or English GCSE equivalents #physiotalk
Claire Fordham (she/her) @ClaireFordham5
@KATEWAL70147393 [REDACTED USER] 😒😢#physiotalk
Claire Fordham (she/her) @ClaireFordham5
[REDACTED USER] Newly developed role across social care too in Lincolnshire. Can connect you if interested #physiotalk
Janet Thomas @JanetThomas47
[REDACTED USER] The SW I work alongside certainly play a huge but informal role in developing students on placement. #physiotalk
Claire Fordham (she/her) @ClaireFordham5
[REDACTED USER] [REDACTED USER] This is where the B5 AHP Lead support worker roles that some NHS Trusts in England have invested in are working brilliantly #physiotalk the navigation is really hard for individuals without this support
Claire Fordham (she/her) @ClaireFordham5
[REDACTED USER] [REDACTED USER] Looking at addressing this through the pre-reg curriculum review. Your [REDACTED USER] support worker group contributed to a focus group on this #physiotalk
Claire Fordham (she/her) @ClaireFordham5
@LorraineAllchu2 [REDACTED USER] Whole raft of resources here on this! https://t.co/GrCHVYU6iS #physiotalk
Jennifer Atkinson @Jenni4Atkinson
[REDACTED USER] YES. On placement but as that experience will b influenced by the team, perhaps introducing collective leadership concept @ uni & include some reflection on how that pans out on placement on team and MDT? Mayb occurs & apologies if so- it’s a while since I trained! #physiotalk
Claire Fordham (she/her) @ClaireFordham5
@Jusgreaves28 [REDACTED USER] Huge role to play as part of a teams based approach https://t.co/GrCHVYU6iS #physiotalk
Katie @KatieBaxter95
[REDACTED USER] [REDACTED USER] Yes totally, my manger is really on the ball with lots of learning resources and development, but I'm sure there's always more to know about and share👍#physiotalk

Claire Fordham (she/her) @ClaireFordham5
great you've used it in student induction [REDACTED USER] #physiotalk
Ellie Newton @Ellie_Newton39
[REDACTED USER] The program should be available to all and not specific to being registered staff or not #physiotalk Leadership is within all roles
Katie @KatieBaxter95
[REDACTED USER] [REDACTED USER] Why not! Learning and developing is so much fun Espcialky when you can apply it in you work and see the results! #physiotalk
