Gabrielle Rankin @GabriellePhysio
#physiotalk that’s really interesting idea Tomas, have you tried it?
@charliemei88
[REDACTED USER] In my home area (Carmarthenshire)- geography. Isolation already an issue for many, often reliant on community support due to rural distribution, lack of family etc. #physiotalk
kate bennett @kategahr_kate
[REDACTED USER] This is a huge concern with us...we have suspended many on our caseload and waiting list but they aren't going to get better on their own necessarily... #physiotalk
olivia frimpong 💙 @livfrim
[REDACTED USER] #physiotalk
@Aine_T
[REDACTED USER] On all tel consults in MSK but I'd guess at fatigue, available social/family support, ability to make to appts/travel, reduced+ confidence, decent nutrition (lots of people across lots of spectrums depending even more on food banks than before)... #physiotalk
Bríd Spillane @SpillaneBrid
#physiotalk Q2 timely access to rehabilitation services is going to be a problem with limited access to outpatient/community services at present. Anticipating a large backlog from current rehab patients who are being discharged once basic goals for safety have been met.
Kate Brown @KateBrown_phys
[REDACTED USER] #physiotalk In the community, how to identify patient need if they haven't been in hospital or under other services. Worried there'll be a cohort of patients who'll get missed.
Janice Martin @janicevmartin
In acute phase hypoxia with movement is what my staff are reporting. Much more significant than what we eiukd normally see posg critical care #physiotalk
Fiona Skelton @skelton_fiona
@PWtherapist [REDACTED USER] I agree Pam , where are you based #physiotalk
kate bennett @kategahr_kate
[REDACTED USER] We are still getting referrals for the normal things as well...people are still falling/ fracturing hips/ deteriorating from long-term conditions and needing input alongside the covid pts #physiotalk
Tish @Tish50680150
[REDACTED USER] [REDACTED USER] Yes we have reports of this. Concern about its diagnosis and whether it’s masking something else? #physiotalk
Jude Fewings @jude8771
Absolutely what we experiencing .
sgreensill @62Sgreensill
[REDACTED USER] Trust Lead Physiotherapy, mental health background and professional lead for Community Physio service supporting pts from hospital post covid. #physiotalk
kate bennett @kategahr_kate
@arnie_puntis @ILauragroom @Daleyfurter [REDACTED USER] [REDACTED USER] We have them as standard pieces of kit in our team #physiotalk
Physiophilip @physiophilip
@mjp62 Great point. Along with the other comments about rehab of the Covid pts, it is clear that there is some serious planning needed! #physiotalk
Lore Smyth @lore33x
#physiotalk I would like to hear from other physios working in Ireland and what, if any, plans are in place for post D/C rehab care
Dr Alison Cowley (PhD) @Alison_Cowley
[REDACTED USER] Its multi-professional (as all good care and rehabilitation should be) #physiotalk
kate bennett @kategahr_kate
[REDACTED USER] [REDACTED USER] Our non covid patients that need input prior to d/c but are medically fit are based in hotels. We will be seeing them there and getting them home asap from there #physiotalk
sgreensill @62Sgreensill
[REDACTED USER] I think this will be a real concern. #physiotalk
Heather Probert @Hev303
[REDACTED USER] Few seen so far but expecting numbers to increase over time. Fatigue, decreased strength globally, decreased function. Some isolated with limited support. Lost confidence. #physiotalk
Physiophilip @physiophilip
[REDACTED USER] Really interesting point, I hadn't considered this. The knock on effects are endless. #physiotalk
kate bennett @kategahr_kate
@mjp62 How did the process not work? #physiotalk
Janet Thomas @JanetThomas47
[REDACTED USER] @wilcoachterberg Patients might even be too fatigued for this. I'm finding sometimes even getting a TUSS a challenge! #physiotalk
Janet Thomas @JanetThomas47
Thanks to [REDACTED USER] ! #physiotalk
Pam Watkins💙 @PWtherapist
[REDACTED USER] #physiotalk we have same concerns
Tish @Tish50680150
[REDACTED USER] #physiotalk the fast pace of discharge from acute care worries me there may be unmet rehab need which gets missed. How are people tracking their patients? What timescales are people using for CCU f/up?
Calderdale Framework @CF7stages
[REDACTED USER] [REDACTED USER] #physiotalk Use Calderdale Framework https://t.co/lwb4CPrd5O to identify who could do what in terms of rehab
sgreensill @62Sgreensill
[REDACTED USER] We have moved staff into the urgent response and rehab pathway and gone to 7 day working. #physiotalk
kate bennett @kategahr_kate
@arnie_puntis [REDACTED USER] Our service has been suspended from our "routine" work to support urgent discharges #physiotalk
Fiona Skelton @skelton_fiona
[REDACTED USER] Having deferred much of our community therapy caseload we are amazed at the lack of usual referrals we would get, the chronic problems, fallers our step up referrals and all the other conditions that would routinely get admitted to hospital, will a peak occur later #physiotalk
olivia frimpong 💙 @livfrim
[REDACTED USER] [REDACTED USER] #physiotalk
kate bennett @kategahr_kate
[REDACTED USER] [REDACTED USER] [REDACTED USER] We were stopped pre-emptively. Our waiting list was under control. #physiotalk
Janet Thomas @JanetThomas47
[REDACTED USER] [REDACTED USER] I have a log of numbers from every #physiotalk (of course!) I think this one might win!
Paula Manning Physio She/Her @Manning2Paula
[REDACTED USER] [REDACTED USER] #physiotalk MH services will have a big role to play here, and the MH AHPs will be really needed.
kate bennett @kategahr_kate
[REDACTED USER] We are still getting some. #physiotalk
kate bennett @kategahr_kate
[REDACTED USER] [REDACTED USER] Definitely #physiotalk
Pam Watkins💙 @PWtherapist
#physiotalk discharges happening quickly . However problems arising in hospital site with access to stairs etc as some patients need this assessment etc prior to leaving .
Calderdale Framework @CF7stages
@skelton_fiona [REDACTED USER] #physiotalk Balance Active is a new, low tech, low cost piece of equipment designed by physios which could really help both Covid 19 survivors and usual community rehab caseload. https://t.co/ig7zUnnSgx
Heather Probert @Hev303
[REDACTED USER] Totally agree Abi! Fewer patients presenting with MI (trend being seen internationally). Those presenting can be late presentation ? due to fear of COVID-19 which can mean more muscle damage and more people living with heart failure going forwards #physiotalk
Paula Manning Physio She/Her @Manning2Paula
Vital we all work together on this. #physiotalk #AHPs
Bríd Spillane @SpillaneBrid
[REDACTED USER] Q3 Positive consequences include willingness to look at new ways of working, progress with IT skills and consideration of telehealth opportunities, joint working with wheelchair and specialist equipment services, breaking down barriers in CHC funding applications. #physiotalk
sgreensill @62Sgreensill
[REDACTED USER] [REDACTED USER] Definitely #physiotalk
Kate Brown @KateBrown_phys
RT @Hev303: [REDACTED USER] Totally agree Abi! Fewer patients presenting with MI (trend being seen internationally). Those presenting can be late…
Paula Manning Physio She/Her @Manning2Paula
[REDACTED USER] [REDACTED USER] #physiotalk great teams make great patient outcomes, communication and leadership is vital. Sounds like you have got it.
fiozy @fiozy1
[REDACTED USER] Resp Physio Isle of Wight, running PR and working with all chronic lung disease problems in Resp Dept. Ready to work in acute when needed #physiotalk
Dr Alison Cowley (PhD) @Alison_Cowley
[REDACTED USER] [REDACTED USER] Agree. Focus (quite rightly) has been on acute management but we need to develop better post-infection rehabilitation guidance (hence this chat) #physiotalk
LYN ANKCORN @LAnkcorn
[REDACTED USER] My concern as an older person and carer for 2 who will do the caring? #physiotalk
Elaine Chesworth @ElaineChesworth
[REDACTED USER] Better more efficient ways of working across the hospitals Virtual meetings, increased clinical triage, implementation of advice and guidance #physiotalk
kate bennett @kategahr_kate
[REDACTED USER] #physiotalk
kate bennett @kategahr_kate
[REDACTED USER] [REDACTED USER] #physiotalk yet when people were asked to step up and work weekends rather than it being enforced (as in our contracts) people still aren't willing!
Sarah Prince @SarahJPphysio
[REDACTED USER] [REDACTED USER] Completely agree. So nice to focus on what care and support people need not who is going to pay for it! #physiotalk
caitlanedula @caitlanedula
[REDACTED USER] [REDACTED USER] [REDACTED USER] I agree, there's a balance to be had but the community and urgent response can benefit from doing more of these early one #physiotalk
Calderdale Framework @CF7stages
[REDACTED USER] [REDACTED USER] #physiotalk Balance Active is like an extra pair of hands and optimises rehab opportunities for patients @BalanceActive1
Physiophilip @physiophilip
[REDACTED USER] [REDACTED USER] Really important to continue this... parallel planning, thresholds of care and discussion about EOL wishes are vital currently and Inthe future. #physiotalk
Paula Manning Physio She/Her @Manning2Paula
Couldn't agree more. #physiotalk
caitlanedula @caitlanedula
@MillieRayner [REDACTED USER] #physiotalk I can't either!
Fiona Skelton @skelton_fiona
@WSHFT_EFtherapy [REDACTED USER] Or steamed up eye protection !! #physiotalk
kate bennett @kategahr_kate
@arnie_puntis [REDACTED USER] [REDACTED USER] 👍 #physiotalk
caitlanedula @caitlanedula
[REDACTED USER] good question...I don't know but I also wonder ...are they re-testing all pts before d/c? but in the community they certainly wouldn't be getting a test or retest at this moment. could be a barrier to getting more rehab for sure #physiotalk
Paula Manning Physio She/Her @Manning2Paula
[REDACTED USER] [REDACTED USER] [REDACTED USER] @NHS_HealthEdEng [REDACTED USER] [REDACTED USER] Keep going we need your work! #physiotalk
olivia frimpong 💙 @livfrim
[REDACTED USER] #physiotalk the MSK physios are amazing, just saying everyone is working outside their normal role and therefore experienced decision making lacking not to mention similar issue with medics
Bríd Spillane @SpillaneBrid
[REDACTED USER] Q4 Sounds like fatigue will be a major factor in rehabilitation, joint working with OT will be essential. #MDT #physiotalk
kate bennett @kategahr_kate
[REDACTED USER] [REDACTED USER] Same here in Southampton...only.seeing for very urgent need #physiotalk
Fiona Skelton @skelton_fiona
[REDACTED USER] [REDACTED USER] Most are in lockdown only allowing face to face if absolutely necessary #physiotalk
Lore Smyth @lore33x
@arnie_puntis [REDACTED USER] What PPE are you using? #physiotalk
kate bennett @kategahr_kate
[REDACTED USER] 3 community teams in Southampton merged into one big hub #physiotalk
Bríd Spillane @SpillaneBrid
[REDACTED USER] [REDACTED USER] Community therapists having limited access to care homes due to transmission risks is understandable but worrying in terms of early rehabilitation for these patients. #physiotalk
caitlanedula @caitlanedula
[REDACTED USER] Jeez with ONS reporting that half of the covid cases could be in care homes (and currently not reported),..a plan is certainly needed. #physiotalk
Pam Watkins💙 @PWtherapist
[REDACTED USER] #physiotalk managing respiratory physios as we have a reduced number of staff due to previous vacancies and staff off . Already fully integrated OT and PT teams so we could start rehab early . Rehab in ITU with our critical care OT . Need to increase staff in this area .
Paula Manning Physio She/Her @Manning2Paula
Q5 As a home worker now due to my risk status, its the frustration of not being able to be more hands on, whilst asking colleagues to work in a certain way but not doing it myself. #physiotalk
kate bennett @kategahr_kate
@mjp62 I would imagine quite a few people have hotmail accounts who may have had the same issue #physiotalk
Bríd Spillane @SpillaneBrid
[REDACTED USER] Q5: eating more cake..... #physiotalk
Jude Fewings @jude8771
Much the same here . , challenging with all MDT in unusual circumstances #physiotalk
Fiona Skelton @skelton_fiona
[REDACTED USER] Closer working of community response team and community therapies, sharing knowledge.Increased use of dial-in meetings so much quicker , need to use more often post COVID7 day working extended hrs /v flexible workforce #physiotalk
Physiophilip @physiophilip
[REDACTED USER] [REDACTED USER] I'm sure you did but this is now more acceptable to discuss as it is in everyone's consciousness. A society that wants to ignore death and dying has been made to consider it. #physiotalk
Elaine Chesworth @ElaineChesworth
[REDACTED USER] [REDACTED USER] Love this idea of using hospital Tvs to broadcast groups. Do you do them live or use a pre recorded readily available one? #physiotalk
Dr Alison Cowley (PhD) @Alison_Cowley
[REDACTED USER] [REDACTED USER] And a big thank you to all the contributions tonight, We have such a wealth of experience, drive and passion across the professions #physiotalk Imagine what we could achieve
Kate Brown @KateBrown_phys
RT @ElaineChesworth: [REDACTED USER] [REDACTED USER] Love this idea of using hospital Tvs to broadcast groups. Do you do them live or use a pre rec…
Gabrielle Rankin @GabriellePhysio
[REDACTED USER] @TeleHab_byVALD There are some great ex platforms but really interested in video consultation involving relatives remotely #physiotalk
Physiophilip @physiophilip
#physiotalk I just can't keep up with tonight. Again so proud of out profession. This, tonight is what we are about. Using clinical expertise, evidence and reasoning to plan, problem solve and provide the best possible care for our patients and on support of our colleagues! 👏
Fiona Skelton @skelton_fiona
[REDACTED USER] Shielded staff, team coordinator working completely from home, set up with laptop ,mobile receiving diverted office calls managing to coordinate in isolation amazing what can be achieved #physiotalk
Lorraine McAndie @lorrainesmithb1
[REDACTED USER] Maybe the challenges and benefits of using telehealth? #physiotalk
Paula Manning Physio She/Her @Manning2Paula
[REDACTED USER] [REDACTED USER] @Alison_Cowley Thanks sooo much. Really interesting. What a response! Best of luck deciphering all that has been tweeted. #physiotalk
@JoannaConsidine
WOW!!! Thank you everyone - so much to think about! #physiotalk
Paula Manning Physio She/Her @Manning2Paula
[REDACTED USER] Please can you do a similar one to this in a few weeks as more rehab work will have been started. #physiotalk
Adrienne Waite @adriennemwaite
[REDACTED USER] #physiotalk lots of little changes but the main ones are increased staffing for wards and community rehab beds, use of Microsoft team to aid comms, team members who are working from home gathering as much information as possible for colleagues who will then see people at home.
Jo.J NeuroPhysio @JoJneurophysio
[REDACTED USER] PPE is pretty daunting for patients, especially the peads. #physiotalk
Rebecca Impson @rebecca_impson
[REDACTED USER] Might need to discuss this again once more patients start coming through from the acute setting? #Physiotalk
Giraffe @giraffehealth
[REDACTED USER] [REDACTED USER] We are offering free access to our online personalised exercise platform to NHS and 3rd sector physiotherapists for the duration of the outbreak https://t.co/VT5lLELtXy, please let us know if we can be of any help #physiotalk #telerehab
Paula Manning Physio She/Her @Manning2Paula
[REDACTED USER] Number of tweets tonight is like nothing I've ever seen! I'm not sure keeping on top was an option! #physiotalk
Bríd Spillane @SpillaneBrid
[REDACTED USER] The ERS paper on the Italian guidance on COVID rehab looks interesting, but I have not read it fully yet. https://t.co/CvpaDrCQwW #physiotalk
Janet Thomas @JanetThomas47
[REDACTED USER] Will it count as my exercise for today then? #physiotalk
Jo.J NeuroPhysio @JoJneurophysio
[REDACTED USER] I'm loving being able to video conference patients and see them doing their physio at home. Saves them a sometime VERY long commute to our tertiary hospital for OP physio, and I get to see their difficulties in their own environment! #physiotalk
caitlanedula @caitlanedula
[REDACTED USER] @Alison_Cowley Brill tonight, inspired by the enthusiasm of all! special thanks to my 17wo son, who really allowed me to come! #physiotalk
Lorraine McAndie @lorrainesmithb1
Just took part in first #physiotalk chat. I am determined to improve my tech skills to help me utilise it better at work!
