Ash James 💭 @ashjamesphysio

Aideen Larmer @AideenPhysio
@physiotalk More related to general healthcare/NHS beliefs but feeds into back pain Mx... that high cost Ax/Rx = better and 'withheld' because of cost-saving rather than due to EBP #physiotalk

@JanetThomas47 @physiotalk #physiotalk The myth used as a marketing ploy by optimistic surgeons that there is a correlation between an image (Xray, scan) & pain experience
Ellena @ellena_farrow
@physiotalk Some of the myths unfortunately hammered into people’s heads from other professional disciplines such as telling people their back is out of alignment 😩 #physiotalk

Janet Thomas @JanetThomas47
@physiotalk For a start we have the mythbusting posters up on our wall! https://t.co/xnS4lzuomz #physiotalk
Aideen Larmer @AideenPhysio
@physiotalk Definitely... the medias portrayal of the NHS doesn't help. I think it's more common in other cultures moving to the UK who are used to having everything thrown at a problem combined with a perception of the NHS in financial crisis #physiotalk
Lewis Lovegrove @_lewadam
@physiotalk Perhaps digging into where and why they developed such beliefs and start to unpick from there? #physiotalk
Janet Thomas @JanetThomas47
@physiotalk Even though we are not in 'MSK' dept still have a lot of patients pause and read them as they walk past the posters #physiotalk
Sibyl Edward @pasl_pt

@physiotalk It's all about posture, bed rest is key to cure it, and your local osteopath will realign 'everything' with a bag of turf. #Physiotalk
Pamela Kipps Hansford @PamKHphysio
@physiotalk #physiotalk Myth 1: Everyone experiences pain post surgery Myth 2: Everyone must take pain killers post surgery because even if you insist there's no pain, the pain will come Myth 3: Even if you refuse pain killers, you should at least take sleeping pills
Unity Physiotherapy & Wellbeing @UnityPhysio
@physiotalk It depends on the patient, the language they are using, previous experiences, how they learn best, and what we agree is helpful to explore #physiotalk
physiotalk @physiotalk
@JoeCurtinIE I read that at first as an answer to Q2 I was worried for a moment... #physiotalk

Okay, moving on! Q3: What do you consider the core pillars to managing patients with non-specific LBP? #physiotalk
Pamela Kipps Hansford @PamKHphysio
@physiotalk #physiotalk myths continued: Myth: that 'strengthening your core' will 'take away your pain' Myth: that surgery will 'take away your pain'
