Hi I'm on the Physiotalk account tonight. Just back from an evening walk doing a bit of litter picking as well! ##physiotalk

@physiotalk If anything I'm probably more active! And the boost of a challenge whether that is #AHPsactive or Step Count Challenge in May does boost my activity as well! #physiotalk
Janet Thomas @JanetThomas47
@SheilaDoughty @physiotalk That's my thinking as well! See the impact of not moving on my patients has an impact on me as well #physiotalk
Janet Thomas @JanetThomas47
@spiteri_anna @physiotalk Very impressive! #physiotalk
Carla Ellis @carlatrottellis
@physiotalk #physiotalk definitely more active as the decades go by, smarter rather than harder
Janet Thomas @JanetThomas47
@physiotalk Yes! Nothing formal when the kids were young - walking, a bit of cycling. Then motivated to run a 5k for 50th birthday - so started running. Then started going to gym 3 years ago to do more weights Now I'm back cycling again rather than running #physiotalk

@physiotalk I feel I might have to do a couple of runs for #AHPsactive in August though... #physiotalk

@physiotalk Everything has calmed currently: #pregnancy (!) as normally high intensity sessions of netball, running & workouts. Had to slow down & lift less due to body changes - been a real adjustment! #physiotalk
Carla Ellis @carlatrottellis
@physiotalk #physiotalk yes variable but wonder if unforeseen consequence of lockdown and enforced time inside is that people value getting out. Anecdotally I see more people out for a walk than previously
Carla Ellis @carlatrottellis
@physiotalk #physiotalk definitely do what you enjoy but also be curious and try something new, you may surprise yourself. Thought I had dismissed yoga in my 20’s, now loving #piyo in my 50’s
Janet Thomas @JanetThomas47
@gvhawtin @physiotalk If anyone told me I would run a 10k in my 50's I would have thought they were mad! But I did... Setting goals is important I think #physiotalk
Janet Thomas @JanetThomas47
@SheilaDoughty @physiotalk I've just got an ebike and am loving it! Out for much longer bike rides than I would have thought possible and even planning a bike commute this week for #cycletoworkday #physiotalk
Carla Ellis @carlatrottellis
@ClaireOCPhysio @physiotalk #physiotalk maybe add rather than change
Janet Thomas @JanetThomas47
@MelroseStewart1 @ClaireOCPhysio @physiotalk My Sat morning walking group is very important to me! Missed it so much during lockdown and its great to be back now! #physiotalk
Carla Ellis @carlatrottellis
@physiotalk #physiotalk Is motivation another word for doing…so forming sustainable habits and making sure you reflect in what works for you and why
Janet Thomas @JanetThomas47
@spiteri_anna @gvhawtin @physiotalk @WeAHPs I'll just not admit how slow I was :) #physiotalk
Carla Ellis @carlatrottellis
@physiotalk #physiotalk encourage them to identify what works for them (& lots of positive reinforcement)
Janet Thomas @JanetThomas47
@MelroseStewart1 @spiteri_anna @gvhawtin @physiotalk @WeAHPs Of course, you are right. If I can start running at 50 then any one can! And I don't mind being slow (Yes I have been last at a Parkrun) #physiotalk
