we don't have a problem recruiting & retaining staff our issue is covering when nurses go off sick at the last minute #wenurses

@BennyGoodmanUoP Wondering if this is a bit of a knowing-doing gap- affective domain. Know what we should do but don’t do it. Why? Because research not valued enough, still many RNs who think no need for CPD as method for empowerment and perversity of being seen as the underdog?? #wenurses

@AgencyNurse @BennyGoodmanUoP Model it! We spend a lot of time looking at developing new RNs but those in the centre shape how those new to nursing behave. Do we value our own care and others with compassion for others workload? Do we focus on good rather than the bits we missed?? All the time??? #wenurses

@carolgair @tarailes @BennyGoodmanUoP I LOVED the first 35 years of my nursing career, time to care for my patients, their families and for my colleagues: increasingly over last 5 years it’s become dog eat dog, poor work/life balance,nurses expected to do more with less,poor skill/mix and high turnover #WeNurses

So admire those who do. My joy is in primary care now #wenurses
