@AgencyNurse @WeNurses Which is why many posts that go viral from health professionals, like that recent video where a health pro was claiming to know when patients are 'faking'. Those types of social media presences are very harmful. #WeNurses

@WeNurses Good working together means power sharing. The patient is the expert in their lives, and that context is vitally more important that our expert health knowledge. We are there to guide, support, and provide the best information we have, not to demand #WeNurses

@WeNurses I know it's been mentioned before, but letting patients write in their own charts/notes about their experiences, needs, what's working etc should be a no-brainer way to achieve good working together. #WeNurses

@WeNurses To be honest I think understaffing and underfunding are major barriers. Stressed work-forces mean little spare time and energy. Even though it takes just a tiny bit longer it's often out of reach for someone near breaking point already #WeNurses

@receivingconsnt @MedicineGovSte @WeNurses It's difficult, because we mostly see people in OUR spaces. This is MY office, I have the comfiest chair in the room. Or it's our ward, we know all the ins and outs, and routines. Space alone disempowers, and we need to actively counter that. #WeNurses

@WeNurses I think the first thing to understand is that policy is enacted on the front-lines. It's up to us how those policies are actually applied, and that allows power sharing even when a policy is designed in a specifically one-sided way. #WeNurses

@WeNurses But also, often policy is put in place by roles without clinical contact, and that makes creating patient-centred policy creation and influencing very difficult, even when nurses and patients combine together to influence policy #WeNurses

@WeNurses Social media is very important on a macro level I think. It allows for the equalisation of voices in a way that isn't achievable often in a policy or MDT meeting. #WeNurses
