Hey #obsm! I made it! Laurel, mental health worker in Orlando. 3.5 weeks post-op from an ovarian cystectomy and removal of #endometriosis. Still struggling with some post-op pain but full-body pain that's been keeping me sick and inactive for years is GONE now and I'm so excited!

@obsmchat #obsm (part 2) I ate less then 1200 calories and was active with small children and work...still gained weight. The doctors told me to eat less and exercise more. I then went down to 600 cals a day. This just caused the world of yo to adding 5 pounds to the highest weight.

T1 It definitely runs in my family, even though we're all active and fairly athletic. We can all LOSE weight by using extreme diets or exercise, but the second we resume a normal diet or activity level, we put the weight back on. #obsm

Actually need to pick your brain about how to get the discussion about those guidelines out! #obsm

T1 I am definitely a comfort eater, too. In some ways, my disposition to obesity feeds into it. I feel like if I'm fat, anyway, I may as well comfort myself with food. If I eat well and still gain weight and get teased or mocked, may as well eat the cookies. #obsm

@obsmchat I've gotten it all my life, and I know I'm not alone. As an adult, my response to other adults has started to become "I'm married, are you?" The answer has never been "yes." (Not that marriage it at all the sole meter of success.) #obsm

@PsychoDietitian Worked with a 7 year old boy with obesity. Chose a goal to be able to walk the Lake Murry Dam. (1.7 miles each way). Achieved it after 3 months. Smile was priceless. We never even talked about numbers on a scale. That wasn't what mattered to him. Walking the dam mattered. #obsm
