Welcome to the #obsm chat. Tonight we're discussing how to stay on a healthy track through the holiday season. https://t.co/XCo9nzQVgs
#obsm chat @obsmchat
Please take a minute to introduce yourself. Even if only planning to "lurk" (read along without commenting) it’s helpful knowing the faces in the audience :-) Please note #obsm chats do not serve as medical advice. We will introduce the first question in a few minutes.

Q1. I think one of the keys is to have a plan, and that plan should include not skipping meals and eating regularly throughout the day. #obsm #healthyholidays #planning #health @obsmchat
Paul Davidson, PhD @PaulDavidsonPhD
I think it's always helpful to plan ahead, bring something that you know you can eat, have something before going to a social event so you're less tempted, and make adaptations of holiday meals or snacks that are healthy. #obsm
Dr. Kasey Goodpaster @DrGoodpaster
🚫Skip meals before 🥗Bring a tasty+healthy meal to share 🍽Use a small plate 🥧Plan in advance which treat you enjoy the most & savor it without guilt 💭Mentally rehearse how to respond to food pushers & policers #obsm

@obsmchat If it's the type of party you can bring something. Bring something you love that's healthy and share it. People are usually thankful for the break from the sugar/carb overload of party food. #obsm
Marilyn Clark @OffThePlateMC
I am going to admit that I opted out of family thanksgiving as an act of self care. But otherwise I recommend bringing something that you can eat so you know there will be at least one healthy choice. #obsm
