T1: Do a quick Google search using keywords such as “support group,” “patient community,” that are specific to your disease. #patientchat
Alexa Jett 🦋 @ohhiialexa
T1: Hashtags are your friend! Searching a diagnosis in hashtags is an easy way to connect with individuals/organizations. Which brings me to the next point, find your advocacy organization if you have one. @ThyCaInc is mine and they are amazing. #patientchat
Christina Lizaso @btrfly12
T1: Finding or building patient community... Too few doctors recommend connecting with other patients. Wish they did more of this. #patientchat
Carly Flumer (she/her) @carlyflumer
T1: Go on Facebook to find support groups! There are tons of them, and I have found them to be very helpful as a #Thyca girl! #patientchat

T1: Take the first step. Put something out there in SoMed and see who replies. #patientchat #mydisease #cureGPX4 Build those folks into a community.
Alan Brewington @abrewi3010
A1 start by being a friend. We all need more friendship in our lives #patientchat

CT A community should be a place where one can give and take support as needed, learn and discover, and practice ideation and design. Failure should be celebrated as a learning opportunity and stories should be about life. #patientchat
