UKMedLibs @UKMedLibs #UKmedlibs chat today covering #KNOWvember! Come and talk to us at 12:30pm - find out more on our blog - https://t.co/g5d2YoWwXQ See you there!
UKMedLibs @UKMedLibs 10 minutes warning! #ukmedlibs starts at 12.30
UKMedLibs @UKMedLibs Shall we introduce ourselves and say what's for lunch? I'm Holly from HEE LKS and today is a spiced butternut squash soup #ukmedlibs https://t.co/iAs8PwUB7Z
Dot Halfhide 💙 🌷 @dot_thorney Leftover cauliflower cheese here!
UKMedLibs @UKMedLibs I'm getting jealous of some of these lunch options! Shall we kick off the questions? #ukmedlibs
Elizabeth Hendron @Elizabe07188873 Chicken sandwich and tea for me! #ukmedlibs
UKMedLibs @UKMedLibs Q1. What knowledge mobilisation activities have you run over the last year? #ukmedlibs #KNOWvember2020
Elizabeth Hendron @Elizabe07188873 @UKMedLibs I have co hosted a webinar with colleagues from our nurse education dept as part of their Engage Enthuse Empower conference this summer #ukmedlibs
UKMedLibs @UKMedLibs @Elizabe07188873 Great! Did they engage well with it? #ukmedlibs
Emily Hopkins @emilylovedhim @GoswamiLouise Think my answer is pretty much the same as Louise's! #ukmedlibs
UKMedLibs @UKMedLibs Some great answers to Q1 coming in, but I'll move us on to Q2. What knowledge mobilisation activities have you run over the last year? #ukmedlibs
UKMedLibs @UKMedLibs Some great answers coming in to Q1, so keep them coming but I'm also going to move to Q2. Has COVID-19 made a difference to your mobilising evidence and knowledge work? #ukmedlibs
Elizabeth Hendron @Elizabe07188873 @tomroper #ukmedlibs I hope they didnt spray any nasty chemicals on you!
UKMedLibs @UKMedLibs @tomroper It never feels like you've captured everything, but everything documented is so valuable! #ukmedlibs
Emily Hopkins @emilylovedhim @TheStaffLibrary We run a rolling prog of RCTs, currently completely online, you sign up & get paired with someone and arrange your chat over Teams. Works really well. It was previously 50/50 in person/online depending on people's office locations and preference which also worked well #ukmedlibs
UKMedLibs @UKMedLibs @TheStaffLibrary I tried it for a CPD event last month, didn't have many sign up for it (it was over the lunch break) but I think the great thing is that onus is on the participant #ukmedlibs
UKMedLibs @UKMedLibs And here's Q3. What have you been asked to do for your organisation during Covid-19 that you would describe as mobilising evidence and knowledge and has this been different to the work you normally do? #ukmedlibs
Emily Hopkins @emilylovedhim Q2 Being virtual-only can have challenges when facilitating e.g AARs, as you miss out on non-verbals and have to be less subtle in your facilitation tactics! #ukmedlibs
Emily Hopkins @emilylovedhim Q2 The response has meant a greater/ more rapid need for enabling the collaboration aspects, and consultation on knowledge organisation, e.g. project teams forming quickly and needing help setting up the KM "bits" of their work. #ukmedlibs
Emily Hopkins @emilylovedhim @alisonday3 Yes, it is hard and I'm not subtle either! I usually say something like "I notice a few people haven't spoken yet, can everyone else pause for a moment in case they'd like to come in" which seems a bit less confrontational than "X, do you have anything to say?" #ukmedlibs
UKMedLibs @UKMedLibs @DeBrun Did you set these up as per requests, or because you knew you'd be asked for the information? #ukmedlibs
UKMedLibs @UKMedLibs @sam_thomas37 This does seem to be the universal experience #ukmedlibs
UKMedLibs @UKMedLibs RT @sam_thomas37: @RuthMuscat @UKMedLibs Many high quality Covid-19 PHE outputs available here:
UKMedLibs @UKMedLibs #ukmedlibs (can't believe I forgot the hashtag!)
UKMedLibs @UKMedLibs @sam_thomas37 That's such interesting insight! Do you find it has been easier to sell KM to clinicians because of your experience? #ukmedlibs
UKMedLibs @UKMedLibs Some of this has already come up in conversation ..Q5. How have you adapted your favourite knowledge mobilisation technique to work online? #ukmedlibs
UKMedLibs @UKMedLibs @CILIPHLG Yes, flexibility seems key! #ukmedlibs
UKMedLibs @UKMedLibs Q6 (because we are speeding towards 13.30!) What might be the advantages of organising an online knowledge mobilisation activity? #ukmedlibs
UKMedLibs @UKMedLibs RT @tomroper: By the way, it’s not directly in answer to a #ukmedlibs question but relevant:
UKMedLibs @UKMedLibs And finally, Q7. How do you promote the knowledge mobilisation techniques you use in your organisation?#ukmedlibs
UKMedLibs @UKMedLibs @sam_thomas37 @alisonday3 @DeBrun Yes, I think this is a whole new layer of facilitating training and presenting online. Although I think confidence in this sort of multitasking will grow as we get more used to it #ukmedlibs
UKMedLibs @UKMedLibs @alisonday3 Word of mouth is still promotion! #ukmedlibs
UKMedLibs @UKMedLibs Well, it is after 13.30 so we are officially at an end for this #ukmedlibs although you are of course welcome to continue sharing! Fantastic knowledge sharing today everyone, happy #KNOWvember2020
Dot Halfhide 💙 🌷 @dot_thorney @tomroper @Librarianpocket @HILJnl Interesting. I spotted it this morning. An opportunity I would have found challenging but rewarding, I think. #ukmedlibs
Carrie Price @carrieprice78 Inputs, opinions, advice wanted from fellow #medlibs #canmedlibs #ukmedlibs -- I'm trying to make a little LibGuide tutorial based on a framework I came up with to teach EBP and searching-lite. https://t.co/i5929ipf8H I want your feedback!
