Kanika Monga, MD @DrKanikaMonga
@womeninmedchat A2: I don't prioritize wellness enough. When I'm busy (and perhaps need wellness the most) wellness goes to the bottom of my priority list. How do you all maintain "wellness" despite fluctuations in our schedules? #WomenInMedicine
Priyanka V. Chugh, MD, MS @AntiWheatGirl
@womeninmedchat A2 I really do my best to “turn off” from medicine/school when I’m at home. I treated med school like a job- work until a certain time & go home. It didn’t always work but the intention helped to build more time to relax and recharge with my partner and family #WomenInMedicine

@DrKanikaMonga @womeninmedchat So true! #WomenInMedicine
meshmd @msmemesha
@womeninmedchat A2: I realized my open availability was literally killing my wellness - every time slot got filled with a meeting. I now take time to go over my calendar and blocks time slots to spend with my kids, exercise or have a “me” day. We will see if it works! #WomeninMedicine

Shreya P. Trivedi MD, MHPE @ShreyaTrivediMD
@womeninmedchat A2. Its a constant self-check with myself. Medicine can easily infiltrate all corners of our lives (esp with the fact we often have to work harder) I find things go array when I dont have a good sense on that thermometer of needs #WomeninMedicine
Briana Christophers, PhD @BriChristophers
@womeninmedchat A2. I schedule time to go to talks & events that I will enjoy. As far as wellness on the day to day, I try to listen to my body: take a break, drink tea, take a nap, talk to a friend, or go to bed if I need it. Not sure what I will do during clerkships though... #WomenInMedicine
Emily Shaffer, DO @DrMissWV
A1: I conceptualize “wellness” as the state of being a whole, functional, aware, & multidimensional person who keeps each of those parts of her soul well fed & attended to. Physically, mentally, emotionally, creatively, intellectually, spiritually. #WomenInMedicine

@womeninmedchat A2 My #1 wellness move is to always be checking in with myself about what aligns with my values.
