RCPE Symposium: Renal and Transplant Medicine. The identification of Chronic Kidney Disease, a growing world-wide clinical problem, is critical with an increasing impact in primary care. Progression of kidney disease is associated with many complications leading to increased morbidity and mortality in patients. The management of CKD and its complications is rapidly evolving. The symposium will examine diagnostic challenges in renal medicine and the emerging therapies that may reduce mortality and morbidity; and finally renal transplantation which provides for improved quantity and quality of life.
